QA Automation Engineer

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join the Consultec team. You are passionate about software quality, test automation, and building reliable testing processes that help deliver secure, stable, and high-performing applications. You are analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to identify risks, prevent defects, and continuously improve software quality.

This is a remote position.

Advanced English proficiency (C1 level) is mandatory, as the role requires frequent communication and collaboration with international teams and clients.

You will:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend services.

• Create and execute automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites.

• Develop automated API tests for REST and/or gRPC services.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster software delivery.

• Analyze business and technical requirements to define effective test strategies, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.

• Identify, document, track, and validate software defects throughout the development lifecycle.

• Perform regression testing and ensure application stability across releases.

• Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, DevOps engineers, and other QA professionals.

• Participate in code reviews related to automation scripts and testing frameworks.

• Monitor automated test results, investigate failures, and improve test reliability.

• Create reusable automation components and maintain scalable testing frameworks.

• Validate data and database behavior through SQL queries and backend testing.

• Support performance, security, and reliability testing initiatives when required.

• Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of QA standards, processes, and best practices.

• Promote a quality-first mindset across development teams.

Ideally, you'd have:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on test automation.

• Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.

• Experience with API automation using tools or frameworks such as Postman, RestAssured, Karate DSL, or similar.

• Programming or scripting experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, or similar languages.

• Solid knowledge of automated testing frameworks and software testing methodologies.

• Experience with functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Experience testing REST APIs and microservices.

• Knowledge of SQL and experience validating data in relational databases.

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar.

• Experience with Git and modern version control workflows.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, or similar is highly valued.

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working within multidisciplinary development teams.

• Understanding of software development lifecycles and quality engineering best practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify edge cases and potential risks.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within distributed teams.

• Experience working with global teams and enterprise clients.
