GovCIO is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist to support software implementation, end user/content developer support, maintenance, and optimization of VA Pyramid Analytics platform. The successful candidate will work as part of an enterprise-wide reporting tools team to deliver actionable data insights supporting programs that serve Veterans nationwide. This is a fully remote position located within the United States.

 

 


Responsibilities

  • Drive and uphold the highest standards of data quality, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in Pyramid Analytics for staff and stakeholders across VA.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and user training on the Pyramid Analytics platform.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize reports, dashboards, and data models within Pyramid Analytics to support VA business goals.

  • Partner with clinical, administrative, and IT stakeholders to translate VA program requirements into BI solutions.

  • Perform data validation, quality assurance, and governance activities for BI assets.

  • Support system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements in collaboration with OIT and vendor teams.

  • Assist in role-based access management and ensuring PHI/PII privacy compliance.

  • Document BI processes and procedures; develop user guides and knowledge assets.

  • Monitor BI system performance and usage; identify and implement areas for improvement.

  • Keep apprised of BI industry trends and recommend best practices for VA BI initiatives.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • Knowledge of authentication frameworks such as Active Directory and Kerberos for secure BI access.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation, governance materials, and process improvements supporting analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterprise BI environments, including high-volume user bases and multi-tool ecosystems (Power BI, Pyramid, SSAS).
  • Ability to support large, cross-functional user communities across VISNs, clinics, and program offices.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

 

  • 2+ years’ experience working with Pyramid Analytics.

  • Demonstrated experience with Pyramid report/dashboard development, data modeling, and use of MDX language.

  • Understanding of healthcare data, VA information systems, and privacy/security concepts (HIPAA, PHI/PII handling).

  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team, supporting a Federally secure environment.

  • SQL & SSRS, complex queries, data modeling, required for dashboard creation. 
  • Certifications in relevant technologies. 

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust 


Posted Salary Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
