We are proud of our workplace culture, where we respect and value our colleagues for their unique perspectives and experiences.     SUMMARY: The Pursuits and Proposals Specialist is a key member of the firm’s Marketing team who helps position BBK to compete for and win new business. The Specialist works as part of a collaborative pursuits team and partners closely with attorneys, practice leaders and business professionals across the firm. The role leads assigned proposals, pitches and other strategic pursuit materials from initial assessment through submission and follow-up, developing persuasive, compliant and client-focused materials that communicate BBK’s experience, approach and differentiators. Success requires strong writing and editorial judgment, strategic thinking, project management and exceptional internal client service in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Own assigned pursuits through the full proposal lifecycle: intake, opportunity assessment, strategy, drafting, review coordination, production, submission and follow-up. Analyze solicitation requirements; build and manage compliance matrices and detailed project schedules; monitor progress; and communicate status, risks and delays early. Build trusted, collaborative relationships with attorneys and colleagues in Marketing, Pricing, Competitive Intelligence, Conflicts, Risk Management and other functions to lead kickoff and strategy discussions with clear alignment on client needs, win themes, responsibilities and timing. Provide responsive, high-touch service to attorneys and other internal clients through timely, clear, and proactive communication; tactful follow-up; and practical recommendations. Draft and edit tailored, persuasive content that communicates the firm's experience, approach and differentiators; translate complex legal, technical and business information into clear, client-focused language. Support pursuit strategy and client growth through research, opportunity assessment, advance positioning and strategic pursuit materials. Prepare and coach attorney interview teams through message development, presentation structure, polished PowerPoint presentations and supporting visuals, anticipated questions, rehearsals and feedback; and support the development and delivery of training for attorneys and business professionals on proposal best practices, pitch strategy, interview preparation and presentation skills. Maintain proposal content, attorney biographies, experience records, credentials and templates in Foundation. Manage final production and submission, including proofreading, quality assurance, compliance, formatting, version control, delivery logistics and confirmation of receipt. Use Asana, the team’s project management and team collaboration platform, to coordinate schedules and assignments; track pursuits, metrics and win/loss outcomes; and support reporting for Marketing and firm leadership. Improve proposal tools, templates and workflows; support pursuit debriefs; engage in training; and collaborate across the team to balance workloads and maintain quality.   Qualifications: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Exceptional client service, emotional intelligence and interpersonal judgment; confidence working directly with attorneys, practice leaders, and stakeholders throughout the firm. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills; ability to produce concise, persuasive and audience-focused content. Strategic and creative thinking paired with meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, consistency and compliance. Strong proposal, project and schedule management skills; ability to manage concurrent pursuits, reset priorities and meet competing deadlines. Sound judgment, initiative and a strong sense of ownership; ability to work independently, maintain momentum on long-term projects and follow through reliably with limited oversight, while knowing when to request additional support as needed. Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills; ability to build consensus and influence without authority while maintaining healthy relationships. Collaborative, adaptable working style with the ability to contribute within a distributed team and work independently under pressure. Intellectual curiosity and interest in the firm's client base, practice areas, and growth strategy. Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat skills, strong visual judgment, and comfort with proposal, content management, project management and collaboration platforms.   JOB COMPETENCIES: Client service and relationship management Strategic thinking and business orientation Proposal, project and deadline management Writing and editorial excellence Communication, facilitation and influence Quality control and attention to detail Accountability, judgment and adaptability Collaboration, process improvement and technology fluency   QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred. At least four years of hands-on experience writing and managing RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, proposals or pitches in a legal or professional services environment is desired. Law firm experience, including significant experience working directly with attorneys, managing expectations and delivering excellent service in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, is strongly preferred. Proposal management, capture management or business development experience in consulting, accounting, or architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) is also desirable. Experience with Foundation or another experience management or proposal development platform is desired; willingness and ability to learn new technology quickly is essential. Experience with Asana or another project management and team collaboration platform is desired; willingness and ability to learn new technology quickly is essential. Experience preparing or coaching attorneys or other senior professionals for competitive interviews and presentations is desirable. Significant PowerPoint and presentation development experience is strongly preferred; graphic design, information design or visual communications experience is a plus. Experience working with or supporting public agencies is a plus.     WORK ENVIRONMENT: This work-from-anywhere position requires a professional workspace, reliable internet access and routine use of computers, videoconferencing and collaboration technologies. Employees must be available during core business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in their local time zone. Occasional work outside those hours may be required to meet client deadlines.     The reasonably expected pay scale for this position with 4 or more years of experience is $100,000 - $120,000 ($51.29-$61.54) annually, non-exempt.  The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.  We encourage all interested candidates to apply.      Best Best & Krieger is an equal opportunity employer.
