About the Position

The Princeton Review and Tutor.com are seeking an experienced Proposal Writer to lead the development of compelling, compliant, and strategic responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other procurement opportunities. This role is critical to supporting our Institutional business by helping secure partnerships with school districts, colleges, universities, government agencies, and other educational organizations. Based on the original job description provided in the uploaded file, this role owns the end-to-end proposal process and serves as the central coordinator across multiple departments.

This individual will drive proposal strategy and execution, ensuring responses are timely, accurate, persuasive, and aligned with organizational objectives. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization to meet critical deadlines.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Execution

  • Own and manage the end-to-end RFP/RFI response process for Institutional business opportunities across The Princeton Review and Tutor.com.
  • Draft, edit, and customize compelling proposal responses that address customer requirements, evaluation criteria, and organizational goals.
  • Analyze proposal outcomes and feedback to continuously improve content quality, response strategy, and win rates.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for proposal development, coordinating efforts across Sales, Legal, Finance, HR, Product, Operations, Marketing, and executive stakeholders.
  • Establish proposal timelines, communicate deliverables, and ensure contributors remain aligned on priorities and deadlines.
  • Build strong relationships across departments to facilitate efficient information gathering and knowledge sharing.

Project Management & Operations

  • Manage multiple concurrent proposals while maintaining exceptional quality standards and attention to detail.
  • Maintain version control, document management, and proposal governance throughout the proposal lifecycle.
  • Identify risks, content gaps, and bottlenecks proactively, implementing solutions to keep projects on track and ensure successful submission.

Process Improvement & Knowledge Management

  • Support and continuously improve proposal development workflows, including kickoffs, reviews, approvals, and submission processes.
  • Maintain and expand centralized repositories of proposal content, supporting documentation, templates, and best practices.
  • Coordinate proposal production, packaging, and final submission activities to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

Who You Are

  • You have a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of proposal writing experience in a B2B environment.
  • You have experience responding to public-sector, higher education, institutional, or government RFPs, RFIs, or procurement opportunities.
  • You possess exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • You have demonstrated success managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and aggressive deadlines.
  • You are highly organized and capable of balancing competing priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • You are a strong relationship builder who collaborates effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • You are self-motivated, accountable, and capable of independently driving projects from kickoff through completion.
  • You are a creative problem solver with strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • You have experience managing proposal content libraries, knowledge bases, or response repositories.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with proposal management software is a plus.
  • You are a systems and process-oriented thinker who seeks opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • You model collaborative partnership, ownership, and operational excellence in everything you do.

The Princeton Review and Tutor.com offer a competitive salary which commensurates with experience and skills. 

US Pay Range
$70,000$80,000 USD
