Property Manager | US Based

Do you have US Property Management experience and thrive on the hustle and chaos of this business?

GC Realty & Development is a Chicago property management firm. Since 2003 we have grown to 1,500 units for more than 600 private investors, and we are pushing to 3,500 doors over the next 3 years. That takes a squad who will stop at nothing. You will work fully remote from your home in Mexico managing relationships with US property investors. This is not an onsite role and it is not local property administration.

Role Overview

As a Property Manager you are the primary point of contact for your assigned property owners. You handle onboarding, day to day communication, financial reviews, and owner approvals, and you coordinate with leasing, maintenance, and finance to keep everything moving. You will negotiate. You will tell an owner no. You will stay composed when things get complicated.

In short: spot problems, communicate, solve them, and repeat!

Compensation

• Hourly: $8.00 to $12.00 USD per hour, paid weekly, based on experience
• Performance Based Monthly Bonus: Up to 20% of base pay
• Daytime Hours: Our office runs on US Central Time, the same clock as most of Mexico. No night shift.
• Paid Time Off (PTO): 10 days
• Holidays: 7 US holidays
• Birthday: Take your birthday as a paid day off, or any paid day during your birthday month

• Referral Program: Refer a hired team member and receive a $1,000 bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Own The Relationship: Serve as the primary point of contact for your assigned property owners
• 2 Hour Response: Reply to every owner email, call, and text within 2 hours during business hours
• First Call Resolution: Deliver the right solution the first time so owners are not chasing you for updates
• Quarterly Check Ins: Run a scheduled check in call with every owner in your portfolio, every quarter

Your Background

• US Property Management Experience: Minimum 3 years managing US residential property owners or residents, either directly for a US company or through a BPO on a US account. US HOA and community association management experience also qualifies. Administration of Mexican properties or condominiums does not.
• English: Advanced written and spoken English, C1 or C2. You will be on the phone with US investors every day and need to be understood easily.
• Client Ownership: You have held the client relationship yourself, not supported someone who did. You make judgment calls daily without waiting for approval.
• Financial Fluency: Comfortable reading owner statements, explaining ROI, and walking an owner through a statement correction.
• Hard Conversations: Experience telling a client no, delivering bad news, and holding your position when someone pushes back.
• US Residential Maintenance: Working knowledge of work order evaluation, routine inspections, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and contractor coordination.
• Software: Hands on experience with AppFolio, Buildium, Rent Manager, Propertyware, or Yardi. AppFolio preferred.
• US Housing Regulations: Familiarity with US landlord and tenant regulations. Illinois and Chicago specific law will be trained.
• Temperament: Proactive, calm under pressure, and sharp on details.
• Availability: Full time, Monday through Friday, during US Central business hours.
• Home Office: Modern computer, stable high speed internet with a backup connection, and a dedicated quiet workspace.
