Job Description:

Metas Solutions is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and proactive Project Coordinator to support the CDC Actionable Data Branch (ADB) Branch Operations and Project Support. The initial focus will be coordinating the 1CDP Foundational Data initiative, with additional support for other priority projects and branch operations as assigned. The Project Coordinator will organize work across teams, track milestones and dependencies, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and help leadership move priorities through completion. Assignments will evolve based on branch priorities and workload.

The successful candidate will work across data management, engineering, programs, and stakeholder teams to coordinate the lifecycle of foundational data assets - from planning and stewardship through documentation, governance review, and publication to the 1CDP (Palantir Foundry) Data Marketplace. This position requires a strong self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, build productive partnerships, maintain organized project information, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and ensure activities move forward to completion.

The role is particularly well suited for an individual who combines demonstrated project coordination and leadership skills with an understanding of public health programs and data. The successful candidate can independently organize complex work, build productive relationships, and maintain progress across teams with different responsibilities and priorities.

Responsibilities:

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities supporting the 1CDP Foundational Data portfolio, including project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and action items.
  • Track foundational datasets and data bundles through development, review, approval, and publication activities, maintaining visibility into status, ownership, dependencies, and next steps.
  • Coordinate activities across ADB leadership, Data Management, Engineering, Communications, 1CDP, data owners, and other CDC partners, clarifying responsibilities, dependencies, and handoffs to support timely delivery of foundational data products.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings and working sessions; prepare agendas and materials, document decisions and action items, and drive follow-up through completion.
  • Identify potential schedule, dependency, resource, or coordination issues and proactively work with project leadership and stakeholders to resolve or escalate them.
  • Develop concise project status updates, dashboards, metrics, and briefing materials for project and ADB leadership.

Governance & Data Delivery Coordination

  • Coordinate with designated data stewards and technical teams to track documentation, metadata, data quality review, versioning, governance approvals, and publication readiness.
  • As this role could be a designated data steward for foundational data assets, Coordinate data stewardship activities for foundational data assets, including documentation, metadata, data quality, versioning, governance, and publication readiness.
  • Support coordination of datasets through applicable review and governance processes, ensuring required documentation and approvals are identified, tracked, and completed.
  • Track and facilitate the preparation, approval, and publication of foundational data products by the responsible data management and platform teams.
  • Coordinate preparation and publication of approved foundational data products to the 1CDP Data Marketplace,
  • Maintain organized inventories of datasets, data bundles, documentation, ownership/stewardship information, publication status, and related artifacts.
  • Work with technical and data management teams to ensure business, stewardship, governance, and publication requirements are understood and incorporated into project activities.
  • Help establish repeatable processes, templates, and workflows that support scalable delivery and stewardship of foundational data across future platforms and use cases.

Stakeholder Engagement, Partnerships & Communications

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across ADB, OPHDST, 1CDP, CDC programs, data owners, data stewards, and technical teams.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions to support business needs analysis by documenting stakeholder needs, expected outcomes, requirements, dependencies, priorities, and decision criteria; summarize findings and recommendations for project leadership.
  • Coordinate communications regarding foundational data availability, publication status, milestones, changes, and upcoming activities.
  • Translate information between technical, programmatic, and business stakeholders to promote shared understanding and effective decision-making.
  • Capture stakeholder feedback, requirements, decisions, and commitments and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Support development of presentations, briefings, written communications, guidance, and other materials that promote awareness and adoption of foundational data resources.

Process & Information Management

  • Maintain accurate, accessible, and well-organized project documentation, meeting records, decision logs, trackers, workflows, and other project artifacts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project coordination, data stewardship, governance, publishing, and information-management processes.
  • Help develop and operationalize repeatable processes that improve transparency, accountability, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and recommending practical improvements to project and operational workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health informatics, information systems, data management, business administration, project management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience coordinating projects or programs across multiple teams, including responsibility for organizing work, managing dependencies, facilitating decisions, and driving deliverables through completion.
  • Demonstrated understanding of public health or healthcare programs and the role of data in supporting their objectives, gained through professional experience, education, or comparable work.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple concurrent activities, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Experience maintaining project plans, schedules, trackers, action items, risks/issues, decisions, and project documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and working sessions and translate discussions into clear decisions, actions, owners, and next steps.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to independently manage work through completion.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships across organizational and functional boundaries.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to identify what needs to be done, organize the work, and proactively move activities forward.
  • Ability to understand and communicate data-related workflows, dependencies, and terminology sufficiently to coordinate work among public health, data management, engineering, and platform teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation/Public Trust.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting public health, healthcare, federal government, or other data-intensive programs.
  • Experience with tools such as SQL, Python or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with data stewardship, data governance, metadata, data quality, data catalogs, or data lifecycle management.
  • Experience coordinating the publication or delivery of data products to enterprise data platforms, marketplaces, catalogs, or similar environments.
  • Experience working with Palantir Foundry, 1CDP, or comparable cloud/data platforms.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams that include data engineers, data analysts/scientists, program staff, data stewards, and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile or iterative project management approaches and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Planner, or similar platforms.
  • Experience developing project dashboards, status reports, executive briefings, or stakeholder communications.
  • Knowledge of CDC, HHS or other public health environments is desirable.
