Summary
The Program Manager is a senior-level project and program leader responsible for overseeing complex, enterprise-wide initiatives both internally and externally. This role acts as the central hub of execution, ensuring that strategic initiatives move forward with discipline, clarity, and results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program & Project Leadership
Lead enterprise-level projects and programs internally and externally, from initiation through closing.
Manage complex, multi-workstream efforts involving cross-functional teams, including service line expansion, technology implementation, financial optimization, or M&A integration.
Own project and program timelines, milestones, project grids, logs and success metrics.
Ensure proper sequencing of efforts, workstream alignment, and visibility of risks and issues.
Client Engagement & PMO Leadership
Serve as the primary project execution lead for client engagements.
Facilitate external meetings and working sessions with client stakeholders.
Ensure internal teams are aligned, prepared, and equipped to deliver with excellence.
Partner closely with the Group Vice President (account owner) to deliver insights, summaries, and updates to the client.
Own the development and management of client-facing materials (status reports, dashboards, deliverables).
Internal Team Coordination
Lead internal execution calls across multiple functional areas.
Ensure project owners are on track, supported, and held accountable.
Capture action items, decisions, and project risks while facilitating productive execution-focused meetings.
Coordinate data collection and resource alignment across teams.
Execution Frameworks & Strategic Enablement
Support the identification, prioritization, and activation of strategic initiatives during the strategic planning process.
Create project charters, execution roadmaps, and kickoff materials.
Implement standardized project management tools, templates, and routines across engagements.
Drive consistency in delivery and performance tracking.
Leadership & Governance
Serve as a senior execution lead and mentor to junior project professionals.
Help maintain and refine the organization’s execution framework and best practices.
Participate in governance structures and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include: Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Health, Project Management or related fields.
PMP certification is required.
Additional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Change Management, PgMP) preferred.
3–5 years of progressive experience in project, program, or portfolio management.
Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional initiatives in healthcare, consulting, or enterprise service environments.
Experience facilitating executive-level stakeholders and delivering results in high-stakes, matrixed environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Mastery of project and program management methodologies and tools.
Strong communication, facilitation, and executive presence.
Ability to manage complexity, uncertainty, and shifting priorities.
Proven skill in stakeholder alignment and issue resolution.
Advanced knowledge of PM tools (Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, or similar).
Financial and operational acumen to understand project impact and trade-offs.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions.
Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities.
A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
