Job Summary
We are seeking a mid‑level Product Owner to support Smart Meter / AMI modernization initiatives. This role owns a defined product area within the AMI program and partners with business SMEs, technical teams, and the system integrator to deliver enhancements, integrations, and workflow improvements. The ideal candidate has hands‑on AMI experience, strong Agile delivery skills, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
Responsibilities
Own a defined AMI product area (e.g., meter data, field operations, device events, or integrations).
Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with program goals.
Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate AMI workflows, interval data needs, and operational impacts.
Support integration work across MDMS, HES, CIS, OMS, ADMS, and related systems.
Participate in Agile ceremonies: backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retros.
Coordinate with the system integrator and technical teams to ensure solution alignment.
Support testing, validation, and release readiness activities.
Track dependencies, risks, and cross‑team impacts across AMI workstreams.
Provide clear communication on progress, blockers, and upcoming priorities.
Requirements
Required Skills
4–7 years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or hybrid PO/BA.
Experience supporting Smart Meter / AMI programs (AMI 1.0 or 2.0).
Strong understanding of meter data, interval data, and AMI workflows.
Ability to write high‑quality user stories and acceptance criteria.
Experience working with MDMS or HES (functional understanding; not architecture).
Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to CIS, OMS, ADMS, or meter‑to‑cash processes.
Experience coordinating with offshore or distributed delivery teams.
Familiarity with AMI device provisioning, firmware updates, or event processing.
Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps.
