ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a Product Owner to own our AI- and data-powered disruption early-warning system, designed to proactively identify travel risks before they become problems. This is a hands-on, technically demanding role where you'll work closely with software engineering teams to transform real-time disruption signals into alerts that travellers and operational teams can trust and act on. You'll help shape a product with a genuinely proactive and protective mission, leveraging data, AI, and operational insight to improve customer experiences. If you're passionate about agile product ownership, data-driven decision-making, and delivering meaningful outcomes, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own and groom the product backlog, ensuring priorities are aligned to real disruption patterns and operational needs.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria covering software quality, AI performance, alert accuracy, timeliness, and safe fallback behaviour.
  • Partner closely with the Tech Lead, engineers, and QA teams to validate delivery outcomes and model performance.
  • Manage and reduce alert fatigue, ensuring alerts remain trusted, relevant, and actionable.
  • Drive production readiness, including clear operational guidance for support and operations teams.
  • Lead new alert types and data integrations from pilot phases through to full deployment.
  • Maintain continuous feedback loops with users and stakeholders who receive and respond to alerts.
  • Monitor delivery metrics and model-health metrics, including accuracy, coverage, and timeliness.
  • Identify and escalate model degradation risks early.
  • Translate product strategy and real-world disruption patterns into clear, development-ready requirements.
  • Make sound, informed in-sprint decisions whilst escalating critical issues when required.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all Flighties feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 to 4 years' experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst within an agile delivery team.
  • Strong written specification and requirements documentation skills.
  • Hands-on experience working with APIs and data.
  • Working understanding of evaluating AI-driven features and balancing accuracy trade-offs.
  • Experience writing acceptance criteria for AI-enabled products and services.
  • Strong aptitude for working with data quality and data integrity challenges.
  • Experience using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to travel disruption management, reservation data, anomaly detection, or alerting systems is highly advantageous.
  • Degree in Technology, Data, or a related field preferred.
