This role turns business problems into prioritised, testable product work and owns the path from discovery through release. The product lead should make clear decisions, resolve data and scope questions and coordinate stakeholders throughout delivery.
Must Have Skills
• Proven experience translating business problems into clear product requirements, user stories and measurable outcomes.
• Strong backlog ownership, including prioritisation, dependency management and maintaining delivery-ready work.
• Ability to write clear acceptance criteria and establish a practical definition of done.
• Experience creating product roadmaps, release plans and phased delivery strategies.
• Ability to understand data models, REST API specifications and system workflows well enough to identify gaps and assumptions.
• Ownership of open data questions, including identifying dynamic data, missing fields and required decisions.
• Strong UX judgement and the ability to give precise, actionable feedback on designs and working software.
• Ability to balance customer value, user experience, engineering effort, risk and delivery timelines.
• Strong stakeholder-management experience across business, sales, support, engineering, design and external partners.
• Experience planning and leading user acceptance testing, managing defect triage and securing business sign-off.
• Experience planning product rollouts, migrations and release communications.
• Ability to define success measures, track adoption and use evidence to guide prioritisation.
• Strong facilitation, decision-making and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn technical and industry domains quickly.
• Practical experience with Jira, Confluence and wireframing or prototyping tools.
Good to Have Skills
• Experience owning technically complex, data-heavy or graphics-intensive products.
• Experience with mapping, geospatial, 3D, visualisation or product-configuration solutions.
• Familiarity with front-end architecture, API integration and software delivery processes.
• Experience with analytics platforms and product-adoption dashboards.
• Knowledge of experimentation, A/B testing and hypothesis-driven discovery.
• Experience working with external API providers, technology partners or enterprise clients.
• Familiarity with accessibility, privacy, security and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience running interviews, workshops, prototype reviews and usability testing.
• Experience coordinating Agile delivery across multiple teams.
• Experience supporting go-to-market planning, customer onboarding or product enablement.
