Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design intuitive, data-driven features for pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight aviation tools. Lead design projects from discovery to launch while maintaining design systems and conducting user research to validate product decisions.
Description
ForeFlight is seeking a highly-motivated Product Designer to join our team in Denmark. This individual will be a key member of the design team, helping to define and design the future of aeronautical products and services. Pilots and dispatchers around the world utilize the tools we create to make their planning and flying experiences safer, easier, and cost-effective.
The ideal candidate should possess a user-centered approach to work and be able to contribute to a design project in our iterative design process while taking a project from discovery to launch. You'll have a mixed background where you've honed exceptional skills in key disciplines such as communication, user research, UI design, and UX design. You've worked on complex problems with multiple use cases and have a curiosity to explore and push the boundaries of what our products can do.
In this role, you will work closely with product management and engineering in a cross-disciplinary team. You'll be able to articulate design strategy and rationale to peers and stakeholders while uncovering where solving user needs can meet business objectives. Together we'll work to achieve our mission, which is to make flying a joy for our users.

At ForeFlight, we know you want a rewarding career. You need challenging projects, a good work environment, and awesome coworkers to achieve that. We believe in our employees, and we empower them to make a direct impact on our products and messaging. Because we understand what our staff needs, we have a low turn-around rate, our employees become brand ambassadors, and we are recognized as a premier leader in the aviation industry.
We're looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and experience leading projects from vision to launch. Given the realities of designing for the (often harsh) cockpit environment, we expect this person to be able to produce cutting-edge interfaces that consider the realities of glare, turbulence, and low light conditions.
A solid understanding of iOS design best practices, including knowledge of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, is required. Although we're not looking for someone proficient in Objective-C or Swift, the ideal candidate is familiar with the basics of iOS UI implementation.
Professionally, this person is driven to execute, deliver, and complete projects independently, seeking advice and direction from team members when needed and plowing ahead to completion when the path forward is clear. This person will be able to point to specific examples that highlight the individual's ability to meet the objectives outlined above, and references will confirm this person's unique skill set.
This position is based in Denmark (Copenhagen area preferred) or remote within Denmark. A pilot designer, or an individual looking to pursue their private pilot license, is a huge plus. Benefits are in line with Danish market standards and include a competitive pension contribution, supplementary health insurance, 5 weeks of statutory annual leave plus holiday allowance (feriepenge) in accordance with the Danish Holiday Act, and flight training reimbursement.
Equal Opportunity Employer
ForeFlight is committed to equal treatment of all applicants and employees in accordance with Danish and EU anti-discrimination law, including the Danish Act on Prohibition of Differential Treatment in the Labour Market. We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
