The role involves owning the end-to-end product experience, from originating concepts and conducting user research to designing high-fidelity mobile flows. The designer will translate complex biometric data into actionable guidance to drive user behavior change and habit formation.
The Role
Help us build the operating system for human longevity.
Virtusan is a Swiss-based longevity ecosystem at the intersection of science, technology, and premium real-world experiences. We connect data, behaviour, and environments so people can live longer, better lives. We're a small team and offer real ownership from day one.
We need someone who owns their work completely: defines the experience, conducts the research, designs the flows, and iterates without waiting to be asked.
This is not just an execution role. You will shape how our app feels to use, how it guides people through their health data, and whether it actually changes how they live. You will be accountable for outcomes, not just outputs. The measure of your work is whether users build real habits, understand their biology, and come back because the product earns it.
Tasks
What You'll Own
Product concept and experience design
- Originate new product concepts from scratch, not just improve what exists
- Design complete user journeys that translate complex biometric data into clear, motivating daily guidance
- Ensure every flow serves behaviour change, not just usability: ask why a feature exists and what it helps the user to accomplish, not just how it should work
- Hold the line on experience quality across the full app
User research
- Plan and run your own user research: interviews, usability tests, diary studies, and in-app feedback loops
- Turn qualitative and quantitative signals into actionable design decisions
- Build and maintain a clear picture of who our users are, what motivates them, and where we lose them
- Bring user evidence into every design conversation
Design execution
- Produce wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma, moving fast without sacrificing precision
- Design for the constraints of mobile: clarity, performance, and one-handed use
- Maintain consistency across components, patterns, and interaction models
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ship what you design
Iteration and quality
- Define success metrics for your work and track them
- Test your assumptions before and after launch
- Spot what isn't working and fix it, with or without a brief
Requirements
- 6 to 7 years of experience as a product or UX designer, with a portfolio that shows end-to-end ownership
- Proven ability to originate product concepts, not just refine existing ones
- Deep mobile app design experience: you understand iOS patterns, constraints, and work with a small screen
- Strong user research skills: you design the study, run it, synthesise it, and act on it
- Expert-level Figma skills and a clean, efficient design process
- Fast prototyping and concept validation: you build lightweight, testable prototypes early to prove or disprove an idea before committing to full design. You iterate quickly on evidence, not instinct, and know when something is ready to build and when it isn't
- Able to design for behaviour change: you understand how habits form and how design can support or undermine them
- Strong written English: your product design copy is natural and is an integral part of your designed flows
- Takes ownership: makes well-reasoned calls independently rather than waiting for direction
- Based in EU/UK timezone
The following are strong advantages:
- Experience in health, wellness, or longevity products
- Experience building data products & data visualisations
- B2C consumer product experience at scale
- Fluency in German
