What you'll do

Viasat is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our Commerical Services team.  In this role, you will support Viasat’s Aviation business by managing a variety of Procurement activities including assurance of supply, on time Supplier delivery, Supplier Management, PO issuance/management, and reporting. 

 

Your forward-thinking and ability to think outside the box will come into play as you develop, manage, and implement effective procurement strategies, develop commodity management strategies, and learn and develop strategies based on customer requirements and technology trends. Your excellent communication skills and ability to drive results and influence key stakeholders will allow you to communicate and assess daily issues, including engineering changes, to meet the needs of the business and easily interact with division leaders in throughout the company.  

 

 

 

 


The day-to-day

  • Issue and manage Purchase ordes to support the needs of the business
  • Continually manage suppliers within the aviation business to achieve procurement targets in price, delivery, and quality.
  • Engage in a high degree of collaboration and communication with engineering, program managers, finance, manufacturing, compliance managers, quality assurance, and other groups within operations.
  • Interface with key internal business area stakeholders to understand their sourcing needs, perform market research, and lead the execution of the procurement strategy.
  • Meet tight program schedules, work with proposals, and cross functional teams to ensure deadlines and financial goals are met.
  • Facilitate process improvement/change initiatives

What you'll need

  • 1+ years of experience as a supply chain professional in an entrepreneurial, high-tech environment.
  • Basic understanding of procurement best practices and associated tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to present to Senior Leadership.
  • Working user of Microsoft Office suite of business software: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • US citizenship required.

  • Experience with managing suppliers and related commodities in the aviation industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Oracle or similar.
  • Experience with Procure-To-Pay systems, Ariba or similar.
  • Experience with PLM, Agile or similar.

Salary range

$63,000.00 - $99,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $78,500.00- $117,500.00/ annually
