Moving Space Forward
Rocketdyne is back — and we're just getting started.
We are unleashing decades of unrivaled flight heritage to power the most critical missions in space today, from the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope to an MMRTG journeying to Saturn's largest moon. National security space is shifting to proliferated constellations, creating compounding demand for exactly what we build.
If you want to do the most important work of your career at a company where One, Trust, and Bold are a way of life, Rocketdyne is your place.
The Role
The Principal Strategy Analyst will help shape where Rocketdyne goes next.
This role sits at the intersection of market intelligence, competitive strategy and enterprise growth — developing the insights Rocketdyne's leaders need to make informed decisions about where we compete, where we invest and where the next opportunities are emerging.
You will independently lead strategic analyses across Rocketdyne's space, defense, propulsion, power and adjacent markets, developing a deep understanding of our customers, competitors, technologies and industry dynamics. But this role isn't simply about gathering data or reporting what happened. We need someone who can determine what the information means for Rocketdyne, why it matters and what we should consider doing about it.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, intellectually curious and comfortable operating in ambiguity. You know how to take a complex strategic question, structure the analysis, find the signal in large amounts of quantitative and qualitative information, and turn it into a clear point of view senior leaders can act on.

Why This Role Matters
- Rocketdyne is at a defining point in both our company's history and the evolution of the space and national security markets.
- As an independent company, the decisions we make about where to compete, where to invest and how to differentiate will help determine our next chapter. The Principal Strategy Analyst will provide the intelligence and perspective behind many of those decisions.
- This is an opportunity to be Bold — questioning assumptions and identifying opportunities others may not yet see; to build Trust — bringing objective, rigorous analysis to consequential decisions; and to operate as One — connecting perspectives from across Business Development, Government Relations, Finance, Engineering and our businesses to develop a more complete view of where Rocketdyne should go next.
Success in this role looks like:
- Leadership has a clear, fact-based view of the markets, competitors and trends shaping Rocketdyne's future
- Market and competitive intelligence translates into actionable strategic recommendations — not simply data
- Emerging opportunities, technologies and competitive threats are identified early enough for Rocketdyne to act
- Strategic planning and investment decisions are supported by rigorous market analysis and defensible assumptions
- Business Development, Government Relations, Finance and Engineering have a shared understanding of the external environment informing key decisions
- Executive-level analyses clearly answer the question: What does this mean for Rocketdyne?
