AI Summary

The Principal Product Manager will own the product strategy and roadmap for AI-enabled healthcare Revenue Cycle Management solutions. They will lead cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities into production workflows to drive measurable business value.

About Us

Phare Health is now part of R1 and its AI innovation engine, R37 Lab, bringing Phare’s frontier clinical reasoning technology together with one of the largest healthcare platforms in the U.S.

At R37 and Phare, we are building the first AI-native Healthcare Revenue Operating System: a connected platform that reasons over full medical records, payer logic, and financial workflows to automate medical coding, billing, and follow-up.

Backed by real customers, real data, and real distribution, we operate on a national scale. Our agentic AI systems already power production workflows across 95 of the top 100 U.S. health systems, processing hundreds of millions of patient encounters each year, including:

  • 180M+ Claims

  • 550M+ Patient encounters

  • 1.2B+ Workflow actions and outcomes each year

This is startup-level ownership with enterprise-level impact. If you want to build AI that ships, scales, and measurably improves how healthcare works, this is the place to do it.

The Role
The Principal Product Manager – R37 is a senior individual contributor responsible for owning and evolving the product strategy, roadmap, and operating model for complex, AI-enabled healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) solutions.

This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, client and stakeholder needs, AI research and engineering, and technical feasibility, translating emerging AI capabilities and complex healthcare workflows into high-impact product outcomes.

In addition, this role is accountable for defining enterprise AI product strategy—driving the development of intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and decision-support solutions that transform core RCM workflows (e.g., coding, billing, denials, collections, and revenue optimization).

The Principal Product Manager – R37, combines strong AI product judgment, enterprise platform thinking, healthcare experience, and exceptional stakeholder leadership. The role influences senior leaders and cross-functional teams without direct authority and creates the connective tissue from AI experimentation through production adoption and measurable business value.

What You'll Do

  • Own and drive product vision, strategy, roadmap, and operating model for enterprise healthcare RCM platforms, including AI-first and data platform strategies.

  • Define and scale AI product vision across the RCM lifecycle, identifying opportunities for automation, prediction, and intelligent decisioning.

  • Lead discovery efforts to identify, validate, and prioritize high-impact opportunities using customer insights, data analysis, and AI-driven signals.

  • Translate AI/ML capabilities, including large language models, multimodal models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, predictive models, NLP, and intelligent automation, into scalable, customer-centric product solutions.

  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Data Platform teams to build, deploy, and operationalize AI/ML models within production environments.

  • Drive the end-to-end AI product lifecycle from use-case hypothesis and experimentation through evaluation, workflow integration, production readiness, rollout, monitoring, adoption, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure responsible AI practices, including data governance, HIPAA compliance, explainability, and bias mitigation in all product decisions.

  • Build business cases and articulate value, ROI, and tradeoffs, including model performance, automation rates, and cost-to-serve impact.

  • Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Design, and Operations to deliver high-quality, AI-powered solutions from concept through scale.

  • Define success metrics, including business outcomes (cash acceleration, denial reduction), model KPIs (precision/recall), and adoption metrics, and drive continuous optimization.

  • Lead client-facing and executive product strategy discussions, including AI adoption, productization tradeoffs, and value storytelling with stakeholders.

  • Influence product and organizational direction through AI thought leadership, market insights, technical fluency, and healthcare domain expertise.

  • Mentor Product Managers and elevate AI product management fluency, methods, and standards across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex SaaS or enterprise platforms.

  • Deep healthcare experience, with strong preference for Revenue Cycle Management or Revenue Integrity domains.

  • Proven experience productizing AI/ML, generative AI, agentic, or AI platform capabilities from experimentation through production deployment and scaled adoption.

  • Strong working fluency in modern AI product development, including large language models, agent architectures and tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and context design, predictive modeling, evaluation frameworks, human-in-the-loop systems, and production monitoring, with the ability to partner credibly with Engineering and application teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute AI-first product and platform strategies tied to measurable business outcomes.

  • Exceptional client-facing communication skills with ability to translate complex AI concepts into clear business value.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, including ability to interpret data trends and model outputs to inform decisions.

  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders without formal authority.

  • Experience operating in Agile environments and managing multiple delivery teams.

  • Thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced, innovation-driven environments with rapidly evolving AI capabilities and incomplete information.
