Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
  • Define and manage the corporate data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, data flows, and data lifecycles for critical business domains.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise data catalog and data dictionary, promoting data literacy and understanding across the organization.
  • Establish data quality frameworks, metrics, and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data assets.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data owners to identify data requirements, resolve data-related issues, and drive data stewardship initiatives.
  • Architect and oversee the implementation of master data management (MDM) and data warehousing solutions to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
  • Drive the adoption of data governance tools and technologies, ensuring their effective integration and utilization within the GE ecosystem.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to data professionals, fostering a culture of data excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data governance, data architecture, and information management.
  • Communicate complex data concepts and strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data governance, or information management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or principal capacity.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling techniques (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and experience with data modeling tools.
  • Extensive experience with data quality management, master data management (MDM), and data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Familiarity with various data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex data initiatives from conception to successful execution.
  • Experience in a large, complex enterprise environment, preferably within a global organization.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
