Ready to join us?

Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TGS Talent Acquisition Team requires:

We are seeking a senior Principal Advisor to join our Business & Technology Strategy practice. This is a advisory role — focused on strategy, assessment, and solutioning for enterprise clients. You will not be running programs. You will be shaping them. At the center of everything you do is a relentless focus on finding value: identifying where clients can unlock efficiency, reduce waste, and generate measurable ROI from their technology and transformation investments.

You bring a management consulting mindset: the ability to rapidly absorb complex, ambiguous problems, diagnose root issues, and translate findings into clear, actionable plans executives can act on. Engagements range from retainer-based advisory and targeted assessments to facilitated workshops, strategic roadmap development, and pre-sale solutioning. You will also play an active role in business development — shaping proposals, leading solutioning conversations, and building long-term advisory relationships.

Responsibilities:

Advisory & Strategic Counsel

Your primary mode is trusted advisor — operating at the intersection of business strategy, enterprise architecture, and AI to help clients act with clarity and confidence.

• Serve as a senior advisor to executive and senior leadership on enterprise strategy, transformation direction, and technology investment — on retainer, project, or workshop basis.

• Rapidly diagnose complex, ambiguous business problems and translate them into structured findings with clear, prioritized next steps.

• Identify and quantify value opportunities — cost reduction, efficiency gains, revenue enablement, and risk mitigation — and help clients build the business case to pursue them.

• Develop ROI frameworks and value scorecards that connect technology and transformation investments to measurable financial and operational outcomes.

• Challenge clients to prioritize investments based on value potential — ensuring resources flow to the highest-impact opportunities.

Assessment, Analysis & Problem Framing

You get to the heart of a problem fast — conducting structured assessments and framing the situation in a way that unlocks action.

• Lead targeted assessments of enterprise strategy, business architecture, AI readiness, operating model maturity, and technology investment alignment.

• Conduct structured discovery through interviews, workshops, and data review — synthesizing inputs into clear diagnostic findings.

• Surface efficiency opportunities, cost drivers, and value leakage within client operations, portfolios, and technology investments.

• Produce crisp, executive-ready deliverables: findings reports, strategic briefs, roadmaps, and advisory presentations.

Workshops & Facilitation

You design and lead high-stakes facilitated sessions — from executive alignment workshops to cross-functional working sessions.

• Design and facilitate executive workshops covering strategy alignment, AI prioritization, architecture direction, and roadmap development.

• Lead working sessions that move organizations from competing priorities to a shared, structured plan.

• Create structured session outputs — decision logs, prioritized backlogs, roadmap drafts — that drive action after the room clears.

AI Strategy & Adoption Advisory

You help clients make smart, grounded decisions about where, when, and how to adopt AI — tied to real business outcomes.

• Advise clients on AI strategy, use case prioritization, and adoption — grounded in their business model, data maturity, and organizational readiness.

• Develop AI adoption frameworks and governance models that are practical, ethical, and tied to measurable outcomes.

• Evaluate AI tools, platforms, and vendor proposals on behalf of clients — providing independent, objective strategic guidance.

• Integrate AI strategy into broader transformation and architecture advisory work.

Solutioning & Business Development

You contribute actively to practice growth — shaping how AGA shows up in client conversations and how engagements are positioned and won.

• Lead or co-lead solutioning conversations with prospective and existing clients — helping them understand the problem, approach, and value.

• Shape advisory proposals, SOWs, and engagement structures that reflect a clear understanding of client need.

• Identify opportunities to expand advisory relationships and position next engagements.

• Contribute to offering development, frameworks, and go-to-market positioning for the practice.

Enterprise & Business Architecture

You use architecture as a strategic lens — informing how you assess, advise, and shape direction.

• Apply business and enterprise architecture frameworks to assess current state and define target-state direction.

• Develop architecture artifacts — capability models, value stream maps, operating model diagrams — as advisory tools for executive decision-making.

• Connect business strategy to technology investment through architecture-driven analysis and roadmapping.

• Advise on technology modernization, cloud strategy, data architecture, and AI platform decisions.

Travel:

This role requires approximately 5–25% travel depending on client engagement model. Many advisory engagements are conducted remotely or in hybrid formats; in-person workshops, client onsite assessments, and solutioning meetings may require periodic travel.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field required.

• Advanced degree (MBA, Master's, Ph.D.) preferred.

Professional Experience

• 10–15+ years in management consulting, enterprise strategy, business or enterprise architecture, or strategic advisory roles.

• Demonstrated experience in a pure advisory or consulting capacity — assessing, advising, and solutioning rather than owning program delivery.

• 5+ years client-facing in IT services, management consulting, or professional services organizations.

• Proven track record advising executive and senior leadership (VP, SVP, C-suite) in complex enterprise environments.

Background in business development, proposal development, or pre-sale solutioning conversations preferred.

Management Consulting & Problem-Solving

• Strong management consulting mindset: rapidly diagnose ambiguous problems and structure them into clear findings and actionable recommendations.

• Skilled at building executive-ready deliverables — assessments, strategic briefs, roadmaps — with minimal ramp time.

• Comfortable operating with incomplete information and driving to a point of view quickly.

• Experience conducting structured assessments, facilitated workshops, and discovery sessions with senior stakeholders.

Strategy, Architecture & AI

• Deep knowledge of Business Architecture: value streams, capability models, BPMN process models, and information models.

• Strong command of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and operating models.

• Demonstrated ability to develop AI adoption strategies, governance frameworks, and readiness assessments.

• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modernization domains: applications, data & analytics, and AI/ML.

• Knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management, governance design, and investment prioritization practices.

Leadership & Communication

• Executive presence — able to command a room, lead high-stakes workshops, and present recommendations with confidence.

• Exceptional written communication: produces clear, concise, and compelling advisory deliverables.

• Translates technical complexity into business language without losing accuracy.

• Self-directed and thrives in a lean, fast-moving advisory environment with a bias toward outcomes.

Desirable Certifications

• Business Architecture Guild certification (BIZBOK) or CBAP (IIBA).

• TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.

• SAFe Program Consultant Trainer (SPCT) or SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC).

• Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent).

• Prosci Change Management Certification or equivalent OCM credential.

• AI/ML practitioner credentials — AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Professional ML Engineer, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, or equivalent.

• Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) — Solutions Architect or equivalent.
