AI Summary

Provide outpatient mental health therapy to clients through in-person and telehealth modalities. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists and nurse practitioners to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Job type: Full-time or part-time. Hybrid preferred. In-person and a limited number of full-time remote roles available.

Location(s): Edina, Maple Grove, Stillwater, and Saint Anthony Minnesota, plus telehealth across Minnesota.

Overview

Pre-licensed therapist role (LGSW, LPC, or LAMFT) at a clinician-led nonprofit outpatient practice with locations in Stillwater, Saint Anthony, and Edina, plus telehealth across Minnesota. Transparent, collections-based compensation and supervision built for real, sustained learning. More than filling a seat, we are looking to build a great team of clinicians who align with our mission and love this work, and pre-licensure is a great time to join one.

We have expansion plans and more openings ahead, including a new Maple Grove clinic and added Edina capacity opening October 1, 2026. Wherever the openings are, we are driven by empowering the right people to do great work. That is what defines our future, and we stay flexible to make room for it, so we want to connect with people who are aligned with us even when the timing isn't exact.

Interested therapists may apply through this posting for any of our locations.

Description

The path to independent licensure shapes the rest of your career as a clinician. The colleagues you sit next to, the supervisor you build a relationship with, the cases you stretch into, the questions you get to ask out loud, all of it adds up to how you see your career moving forward. Vantage Mental Health is a great place to learn how to do this well.

We started Vantage Mental Health because we believe group practice can be a place where that kind of growth actually happens. Real colleagues to consult with. Therapists, psychiatrists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners working alongside each other on shared patients. A culture where curiosity and good clinical thinking are the things that get rewarded. Leadership that supports your practice operationally and gives you and each clinic the autonomy to do what is right, and what is best for both you and your clients. We are not backed by private equity. Our decisions are guided by our mission and our people.

We're looking for people who, at their core, love this work. People looking for a place that supports them and that loves providing these services as much as they do. Pre-licensure is the right time to plant yourself somewhere like that.

Who thrives at Vantage

The clinicians who are happiest here tend to share a few things. You will likely love it here if:

  • You love the clinical work itself and can see yourself doing it for years. This is the heart of everything else.
  • You want to be part of a team, with colleagues to learn from and collaborate with, and you want your clients to have a full range of outpatient services and expertise behind them.
  • You take real pride in your craft. Your clients want to come back and see you, and you hold yourself to a high standard.
  • You are always looking to keep learning and growing.
  • You enjoy the support of a group in your practice and want to contribute to solutions that break down administrative barriers.

How supervision works at Vantage

Supervision is one of the most important things we do, and we've built it with the same transparency we apply to everything else. We pair you one of our approved supervisors to ensure you have your clinical and billing supervision covered and continue to expand our specialty supervision options for you to have a well rounded learning and support experience.

Pre-licensed therapists contribute a fixed weekly amount that goes directly to your supervisor or supervisors. You see exactly what supervision costs. Your supervisor is meaningfully compensated for the time, which means the relationship is real and sustained rather than rushed. Most groups bury the pre-licensed to licensed pay differential and underpay both the supervisee and the supervisor in the process. We don't.

Supervision includes one-on-one meetings, group supervision, training and practice management, note sign-off and review, compliance coaching, and clinical support as needed. Hiring is done in coordination between your supervisor and the clinic director, so the fit is mutual from day one.

Compensation, transparently

We pay pre-licensed clinicians the same way we pay licensed ones: a transparent percentage of what's actually collected on your work, with the supervision contribution clearly accounted for. Our clinicians are W2 employees, not 1099 contractors. You have the autonomy to find your own balance between compensation targets and work-life balance, and to work through those tradeoffs with your supervisor as part of building competency in managing your overall career.

Benefits and other compensation include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and PSLF eligibility through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status (eligibility is based on nonprofit status and is not a guarantee of approval).

What the day-to-day actually looks like

You build your caseload at a sustainable pace, with the modalities and populations you're drawn to, in person at one of our clinics or through telehealth. You meet regularly with your supervisor in a structured, ongoing relationship. You have an interdisciplinary team available for collaborative care on shared patients, along with services you can explore as part of your own learning and career development, including psychiatry, group therapy, psychedelic-assisted treatment, and TMS.

Where and how you would work

We work across Stillwater, Saint Anthony, and Edina, plus telehealth throughout Minnesota. We have limited current openings in Stillwater and Saint Anthony. We are expanding: our new Maple Grove clinic opens October 1, 2026, with virtual work available before then, and we are adding capacity in our Edina clinic this fall as well. Most of our team works a hybrid practice, full-time in person is also a great fit, and we have a limited number of full-time remote roles.

The practical details

Active Minnesota pre-licensure status (working toward independent licensure (LICSW, LPCC, or LMFT). Master's degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.

If this sounds like your kind of place apply through the link, or email us if you'd rather start with a quiet conversation. We're looking to connect with the right people to find opportunity and alignment and excited to hear from you
