Platform Software Engineer (DevOps)

Overview

We are seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join our DevOps team and help bridge the gap between Software Development and Platform Operations through automation, tooling, and platform engineering solutions.

This role is ideal for a software developer who enjoys solving operational challenges through code. Working closely with DevOps, Development, Infrastructure, Database, and Security teams, you will build tools, automation, and integrations that improve developer productivity, simplify application deployments, and enhance platform reliability.

The ideal candidate has a strong software development foundation, experience with modern CI/CD practices, and an interest in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and automation. While this position resides within the DevOps organization, the primary focus is applying software engineering principles to improve operational efficiency, developer experience, and software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automation solutions that improve software delivery and operational efficiency.• Develop internal tools, integrations, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.• Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and software engineering best practices.• Support applications running in cloud and containerized environments.• Collaborate with Development and DevOps teams to improve deployment reliability and developer experience.• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.• Contribute to platform modernization, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud adoption efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of software development or related engineering experience.• Experience with one or more of the following: o Java / Spring Booto Pythono Node.jso React• Experience working with REST APIs and relational databases.• Understanding of SDLC and Agile development methodologies.• Experience with Git, source control best practices, and CI/CD pipelines.• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, and Groovy• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker, and Kubernetes.• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:• CloudFormation, Ansible, or helm• Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms• Kubernetes experience• Monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus

Additional Considerations:

Candidates who advance to the final interview stage may be asked to participate in an in-person interview. Travel expenses will be covered 

This role is remote but may require occasional on-site attendance for meetings in one of our facilities in Tampa, Hartford or Overland Park, KS.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $100,000 / year plus corporate bonus incentive.
