Position Overview:

The Platform & Content Operations Associate role serves as an operational hub between internal teams—including GA Programming, Marketing, Station Services, Technology and Operations, and PBS Distribution—to help ensure content (including long-form, short-form, social, and live environments), is accurately prepared, published, maintained, and represented across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support day-to-day operations across PBS-owned and third-party digital distribution platforms, including content publishing, collections and playlists.

  • Manage content libraries by maintaining accurate metadata, taxonomy, artwork, and associated assets across multiple systems.

  • Ensure content is published in accordance with distribution rights, windowing schedules, platform requirements, and PBS quality standards.

  • Monitor platform health and content availability, troubleshoot operational issues, and coordinate resolutions with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate launches of new content, special programming, and platform initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate execution.

  • Manage streaming content communications

  • Serve as an operational liaison across Distribution Strategy, Programming, Product, Marketing, Technology and Operations, Station Services, PBS Distribution, and external partners to support content delivery and publishing workflows.

  • Track project timelines, dependencies, and operational risks across multiple initiatives while ensuring deliverables remain on schedule.

  • Document operational procedures and recommend workflow improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.

  • Monitor platform performance and operational metrics, identifying trends and opportunities to improve audience experience and operational effectiveness.

Requirements for success:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience in digital media, streaming, content operations, media asset management, or platform administration.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Comfortable learning new systems and digital tools.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a process-oriented mindset.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital publishing or content management systems (CMS).

  • Familiarity with media asset management (MAM) or digital asset management (DAM) systems.

  • Knowledge of metadata standards and digital content workflows.

  • Experience supporting streaming platforms, FAST channels, AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, or YouTube.

  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools (YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau, etc.).

  • Experience working with project management software such as Jira, Monday.com, Smartsheet or Airtable.

  • Understanding of content rights, windowing, or digital distribution workflows is a plus.

The base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $24.03/hour - $28.84/hour. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days / 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
