POSITION SUMMARY

This is a remote position; applicants must be current Florida residents.

The Permit Coordinator owns the full lifecycle of permitting for assigned projects, from initial research through final approval and closeout. This role is the primary connection point between internal teams, contractors, and government agencies, making sure every permit application is accurate, compliant, and submitted on time. The right person will be a sharp, organized problem-solver who thrives on tracking details, chasing down answers, and keeping projects moving even when agencies are slow to respond.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage the full lifecycle of project permitting, from initial research and application preparation through approval and closeout.
  • Prepare, review, and submit permit applications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Research and interpret local, state, and federal codes, ordinances, and regulatory requirements related to permitting.
  • Track permit application status, review timelines, and approval conditions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Respond to agency comments, requests for additional information, and correction notices in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate revisions and resubmittals with project stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date permitting documentation and records.
  • Identify permitting risks or delays early, and proactively communicate impacts and solutions to project teams.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the duration of each project.
  • Support inspections, approvals, and final sign-offs as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in permit coordination, permitting, or regulatory compliance; single-trade experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing permitting processes, regulatory compliance, or project coordination across multiple projects at once.
  • Strong working knowledge of municipal permitting regulations, licensing requirements, and code compliance processes.
  • Prior experience with a private provider or consulting environment preferred.
  • Ability to independently research, analyze, organize, and summarize complex issues into clear, well-written memoranda.
  • Sharp attention to detail, with the ability to accurately track applications, deadlines, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with multiple business units and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team, juggling multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong, professional communication skills across all levels of the organization and with regulatory agencies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and permitting or document management systems.
