We have an immediate opening for a People & Culture Generalist (12-Month Contract, Part-Time).  This position is available in Calgary, AB. This position offers approximately 20 hours per week and is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working closely with employees and leaders across a broad range of HR activities. There is potential for this role to become permanent.

How we plan on keeping you busy:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, from job postings and candidate screening through selection and offer
  • Partner with hiring managers on job descriptions, workforce planning, and talent requirements
  • Provide practical HR guidance and support to employees and leaders on workplace and employee relations matters
  • Support performance management, including goal setting, feedback, performance improvement plans, and corrective action
  • Assist with employee development, leadership training, and performance review process
  • Support compensation reviews, salary planning and job evaluations
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures while supporting compliance with applicable employment legislation
  • Support workplace investigations when required
  • Work collaboratively with Safety & Operations on people-related workplace matters as appropriate
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on payroll processing and related payroll activities
  • Coordinate employee onboarding process and ensure new employees receive appropriate documentation and organizational information
  • Coordinate employee offboarding, exit interviews, and documentation
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, workplace culture, and employee experience initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
  • Prepare HR letters, documentation, and other employee communications
  • Maintain employee information in the HRIS (UKG)
  • Support group benefits and other employee programs
  • Track key HR information and prepare simple reports and metrics for leadership

What will help you get here:

  • 3-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a Generalist, HR Business Partner or similar role
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline
  • CPHR designation or progress to the designation would be considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of general HR practices and employment legislation
  • Demonstrated experience supporting recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and HR policies
  • Experience providing HR advice directly to managers and senior leaders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable having difficult or sensitive conversations
  • Strong judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Practical, solutions-oriented approach to Human Resources
  • Comfortable working in a smaller organization where responsibilities may extend beyond traditional HR boundaries
