Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: People & Culture/Admin & Operations Support

Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 7:30 AM - 3 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: It is a civil construction business focused on delivering essential infrastructure works across urban and industrial environments. They specialise in practical, end-to-end delivery of civil projects such as Traffic Signal & Electrical Installations, Electronic Signage Installation, earthworks, road construction, drainage, and associated site works. They operate in highly regulated settings where safety, compliance, and coordination are critical, and they are known for taking a hands-on approach to getting projects delivered efficiently and to specification.

Role Overview: We are looking for a proactive People & Culture and Admin Operations Support professional to help keep our people systems and day-to-day processes running smoothly. You’ll manage employee inductions, records, contracts, letters and training compliance, while also supporting recruitment, employee relations, policies and subcontractor documentation as needed. Most of the work is handled remotely via email and phone, with templates and guidance from a qualified HR professional for more complex matters. Construction experience is a bonus, but what matters most is curiosity, initiative and a research-first mindset, with the willingness to learn industry terminology around plant, equipment, vehicles and subcontractor trades as you go.

Key Responsibilities:

Each area is tagged with how often it comes up. Weekly tasks form your core routine; as-required tasks are picked up as the business needs them.

Recruitment & Workforce Planning (Mostly as required)

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions and role requirements
  • Coordinate onboarding
  • Coordinate internal and external induction programs (weekly checks and follow-ups)
  • Conduct offboarding where required

Employee Relations (As required)

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee issues
  • Manage conflict resolution and disciplinary processes
  • Provide guidance to managers on HR matters
  • Foster a positive and productive workplace culture

Performance Management

  • Support managers in setting KPIs and development plans
  • Drive continuous improvement in employee performance

Compliance & Policies (Mostly as required)

  • Ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and regulations
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
  • Manage workplace health and safety collaboration, with a focus on construction environments
  • Maintain accurate employee records (weekly checks and follow-ups)

Training & Development (Weekly checks & follow-ups)

  • Identify skill gaps and training requirements, in conjunction with managers
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs
  • Save and upload staff tickets to the relevant portals and admin databases

Payroll & HR Administration Oversight (As required)

  • Oversee payroll processes and entitlements, in collaboration with accounts
  • Manage employee records, contracts and documentation, with assistance from the formal HR professional

Subcontractor Documentation (As required)

  • Manage subcontractor documentation
  • Arrange subcontractor inductions

Requirements

  • Experience in HR, People & Culture, recruitment, or HR administration
  • Working knowledge of Australian employment practices, or willingness to learn
  • Highly organised with strong follow-up and record-keeping skills
  • Clear, professional English communication skills
  • Proactive and able to research unfamiliar processes independently
  • Comfortable using templates, portals, and admin systems
  • Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information

Preferred/Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in construction, infrastructure or trades environments
  • Familiarity with WHS and subcontractor compliance
  • Exposure to payroll and entitlements

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
