Patent Paralegal

ROLE SNAPSHOT —

  • Location/Schedule: Remote
  • Purpose: Support a high-volume in-house patent operation by owning docketing, Patent Center workflows, inventor coordination, and filing execution across a rapidly expanding patent portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES —

  • Own daily patent docketing operations with zero missed deadlines.
  • Prepare and process USPTO Patent Center filings and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate inventor disclosures, declarations, assignments, and signature workflows.
  • Manage maintenance fee tracking and entity-status verification.
  • Support intake and quality control workflows tied to AI-generated patent application output.
  • Coordinate foreign filing and PCT national phase activities with outside counsel.
  • Generate operational reporting for portfolio health, filing cadence, and deadline tracking.
  • Maintain accurate status updates and filing records in real time.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS —

  • Minimum 3 years of patent paralegal experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Recent hands-on USPTO Patent Center filing experience within the past 12 months.
  • Advanced proficiency with CPI, Anaqua, FoundationIP, or IPfolio.
  • Proven deadline management accuracy with a verifiable sub-1% missed-deadline rate.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with AI-augmented patent drafting workflows.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS —

  • USPTO Patent Bar registration.
  • PCT national phase experience across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience in a boutique IP law firm environment.
  • Bilingual English/Mandarin or English/Korean.
  • Experience supporting AI-drafted patent applications in production environments.

The pay range for this position is $75,000.00 to $110,000.00. Please note that the quoted pay range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) experience, including industry or specific experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, and/or other applicable laws.
