AI Summary

The Para Broker manages the full mortgage file lifecycle from initial fact find through to settlement and post-settlement repricing. They are responsible for assessing deals, selecting appropriate lenders, and maintaining a high-volume pipeline of applications.

Role Summary

The Para Broker owns the full mortgage file lifecycle, taking a broad fact find from the broker and running the deal all the way through to settlement and beyond. Day to day, you will complete fact finds, assess deals and select the right lender and product tier across prime, near-prime, and specialist lending, prepare recommendations, handle pricing and lodgement through AOL, clear conditions, and manage post-settlement repricing. The work centres on non-conforming, low-doc, and specialist scenarios, including SME clients, ATO debts, defaults, and tight LVRs. You will run a high-volume pipeline with full accountability, supported by resources such as Brokipedia, lender policy tools, and AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a broad fact find from the broker and complete it, using sound judgement to fill sensible gaps rather than bombarding clients with unnecessary requests

  • Research and verify client details from limited information (name, phone, email) using LinkedIn, credit reporting (CCR), and public records

  • Assess each deal and determine the right lender and product tier, whether prime, near-prime, or specialist, with a focus on non-conforming, low-doc, and specialist lending

  • Prepare mortgage options and product recommendations following the fact find

  • Handle pricing, application documents, and lodgement (AOL) accurately and quickly

  • Manage the full application through to settlement, including document checking and uploading and settlement conditions

  • Challenge and resolve MIRs directly with lenders and BDMs by phone, escalating to the client only when genuinely required

  • Own post-settlement tasks, including reviewing and repricing client rates

  • Manage a high-volume pipeline, inputting around four to five files per day and managing up to twenty files at once, moving each from lodgement to settlement within four weeks

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a para broker, credit analyst, or senior loan processor within Australian mortgage broking

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian lending, including non-conforming, low-doc, and specialist lenders such as Bluestone, MA Money, and similar third-tier lenders

  • Confident assessing deals and matching clients to the correct lender tier

  • Sound commercial judgement and common sense, able to move a file forward without being spoon-fed every detail

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and stays accurate while juggling many files at once

  • Excellent written and verbal English

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a genuine sense of accountability

  • Comfortable using CRM systems, lender portals, Brokipedia, and AI tools

Requirements

  • Stable work-from-home setup (reliable internet, laptop/desktop, quiet workspace)

  • Proactive attitude, able to follow up clients, lenders, and third parties without being prompted

  • Available to work Australian business hours

Benefits

  • Full-time, work-from-home

  • Long-term, stable role with a busy, growing broking business

  • Training and support provided

  • Trusted ownership of your own pipeline, backed by strong resources and tools
