The Role

This position is responsible for internal graphic design. This includes keeping consistency throughout product lines, packaging, literature and advertising. It requires understanding objectives of established goals and ensuring deadlines of projects are on time, cost effective and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Development of concepts, design and layout for labels, packaging, literature, tradeshow and digital
• Production rework of existing materials and designs in order to update the look and or information of the piece
• Create original illustrations, icons and other graphics using Adobe Illustrator
• Stock photography searches
• Preparation of computer files for printers
• Answering questions that may arise while producing output for printed pieces
• Meeting the goals of set deadlines based on what was supplied to graphics
• Maintaining well-organized computer and hard copy files for individual design projects
• Assistance with maintaining computers within the Creative Services Department
• Consistently maintain all work on the file server

Basic Requirements

Experience / Training / Education

• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in the field of graphic design. This should include familiarity
• with ad, corporate identity, packaging and literature design
• BFA in Graphic Design or other BA desired but not required
• Strong understanding of the commercial printing and pre-press requirements
• Strong Macintosh literate background
• Experience in working within a corporate environment

Knowledge of

• Required Software: Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of additional software is helpful
• Printing process, file setup

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to take direction and to accept constructive criticism
• Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with others
• Problem solving capabilities
• Exceptional attention to detail, including thoroughly proofreading and verifying one’s own work for accuracy before routing or release
• Business communications and protocol

Compensation

The current range for this remote role based in the U.S. is $40.50/hr.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
