Operations Manager for Anime Production Studio

Role Overview

We are hiring an Operations Manager to help build the operational foundation of an Australia-based, artist-led creative company expanding into its own anime animation studio. You will lead hiring, manage team operations, improve systems, and help turn creative ideas into structured execution. This role is best suited for someone highly organized, fast-moving, comfortable managing people, and genuinely interested in anime, art, jewelry, luxury products, and creative brand-building.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will support the company across hiring, team management, project tracking, systems, workflows, and business growth. You will help coordinate work across design, marketing, product creation, e-commerce, and studio operations, making sure the team has the structure needed to execute creative projects well.

This role will play an important part in preparing our anime projects for public release and helping the business scale without losing creative quality. Success in this position means creating clarity, removing bottlenecks, improving execution, and helping a growing remote team stay organized and accountable. What You’ll Do

• Lead the initial hiring phase, including recruiting and onboarding 10+ team members.
• Build a clear operational plan to prepare anime projects for public release.
• Oversee day-to-day operations across design, marketing, product creation, e-commerce, and studio work.
• Manage, organize, and support team members across multiple functions.
• Improve systems, workflows, and execution as the business grows.
• Track projects, assign tasks, and manage workflows in Notion, Miro, or similar tools.
• Identify bottlenecks quickly and create practical solutions.
• Support growth across creative, e-commerce, marketing, and studio operations.
• Help turn creative ideas into organized plans, timelines, tasks, and deliverables.
• Maintain clear communication and accountability across a remote team.

Must-Haves

• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience hiring talent and managing teams.
• Solid background in social media, marketing, or e-commerce operations.
• Comfortable managing people, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
• Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, consistent, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Comfortable moving quickly in a growing creative business.
• Available at least 5 days per week, with 6 or 7 days preferred.

Nice-to-Haves

• Design experience, such as art, graphic design, jewelry design, or related creative work.
• Interest in anime, manga, webtoons, or animation.
• Interest in jewelry, luxury products, fashion, handbags, perfume, or similar industries.
• Art experience, including drawing, illustration, animation, or visual development.
• Experience working with e-commerce brands.
• Experience scaling creative or product-based businesses.
• Familiarity with Notion, Miro, or similar project management and collaboration tools.
