CEPH seeks a full-time Accreditation Coordinator. Daily work will be completed from a home office in the continental US. Employees must live within 30 miles of a major airport in the contiguous US, as the position includes regular work travel (20-30 nights per year).

Position requires the following:


  • MPH from a CEPH-accredited school or program, degree conferred by October 2026
  • Experience working in a university setting strongly preferred (e.g., graduate assistant, teaching assistant, part-time student worker)
  • Strong interest in development of the future public health workforce
  • Strong interest in higher education policy and issues
  • Strong interest in analytical writing and editing
  • Candidates with a baccalaureate degree in a writing-intensive major, such as English or journalism, particularly encouraged to apply

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 


  • Reviews and analyzes reports and other documents describing public health higher education curricula and programs (bachelor's through doctoral levels)
  • Applies accreditation criteria and procedures in a variety of situations and settings
  • Writes, edits, and proofreads site visit team reports and other documents from 1-50 pages, with attention to style, grammar/syntax, and required content
  • Manages the accreditation review process, including logistics, for assigned schools and programs
  • Coordinates accreditation on-site visits at universities located throughout the United States
  • Travels (by air and auto) to locations throughout the United States for 2-4 days at a time (approximately 20-30 days/nights away from main work site per year). Travel dates are defined 2-4 months in advance, whenever possible.
  • Responds by email, phone, and in person to accreditation-related inquiries from schools and programs, volunteers, and the public
  • Manages multiple priorities to complete highly detailed tasks on deadline with minimal supervision


Physical & Mental Demands:


  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to two hours at a time
  • Must be able to traverse multiple locations across a university campus in a single day
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery (computer printer, copy machine, etc.)
  • Constantly reads, comprehends, and analyzes technical documents of up to 200 pages
  • Constantly communicates with individuals who contact the office with phone and email inquiries. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Frequently communicates with individuals during face-to-face interactions, including interviews, meetings, and training sessions. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, including responding to questions and tailoring information in real time to meet audience needs.


Compensation:


Total compensation package between $75,400 and $78,000 includes the following:


  • salary of $58,000 to $60,000, commensurate with education and experience
  • additional 10% of base salary deposited in retirement account with no employee contribution or match required (begins after 6 months of employment)
  • 100% employer-paid premium for individual gold health insurance plan, 70% paid premium for eligible family members
  • annual leave, sick leave, personal leave, 11 holidays per year 
  • dental insurance (full premium employer-paid)
  • vision insurance (full premium employer-paid)
  • up to $1500 annually to reimburse eligible professional development expenses (available after 6 months employment)
  • group life insurance (full premium employer-paid)
  • long and short-term disability insurance (full premium employer-paid)
  • optional employee-funded tax-deferred salary contribution to retirement account also available


Location, Equipment & Schedule Expectations for Telework:


  • Access to reliable high-speed internet, cell phone, and cell service; costs are the employee's responsibility.
  • Establish a separate area in the home as a dedicated work site that is not used by other individuals during the employee’s designated work hours.
  • CEPH will provide a laptop for each telecommuting employee for business use and one-time $300 stipend to offset office set up costs. Employee is responsible for ensuring access to another computer as backup so that work may be completed in the event of sudden technical problems with work laptop.  
  • Establish work hours to occur between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm Eastern Time and be available by phone, video conference, and email during one’s designated work hours. Schedule must include the core work hours between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm ET.
  • Make regular dependent care arrangements, if applicable.
    • If an employee needs to take unscheduled leave for illness or other circumstances, the employee must use annual leave, sick leave, personal leave, or comp time for the absence. Telecommuting is not a substitute for taking leave for illness or other personal circumstances.
