Position Summary

We are seeking qualified and student-focused Online Faculty to provide high-quality instruction in one or more of the following disciplines: Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing & Coding, and General Education.

Online Faculty are responsible for creating an engaging and supportive virtual learning environment while delivering instruction in accordance with approved curriculum, course objectives, institutional policies, and academic standards. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong subject-matter expertise, online instructional experience, effective communication skills, and a commitment to student achievement and academic excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective online instruction in assigned courses using the institution's Learning Management System (LMS).
• Facilitate course content in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum, learning objectives, and academic policies.
• Conduct required live/synchronous instructional sessions and provide meaningful faculty-to-student interaction throughout the course.
• Maintain an active and visible presence within the online classroom.
• Facilitate and actively participate in online discussions and other learning activities.
• Provide timely, substantive, and individualized feedback on student assignments and assessments.
• Grade assignments, examinations, discussions, and other coursework within established institutional timelines.
• Monitor student attendance, academic engagement, and overall progress.
• Proactively communicate with students who demonstrate attendance, participation, or academic concerns.
• Maintain accurate and timely academic records, including attendance and grades.
• Provide scheduled virtual office hours and additional academic support as appropriate.
• Respond to student questions and communications within established response-time expectations.
• Utilize instructional technology and online resources effectively to enhance student learning.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, training, and institutional activities as required.
• Maintain compliance with institutional policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable academic standards.
• Collaborate with academic leadership and fellow faculty to support curriculum quality, student retention, and successful student outcomes.
• Perform other faculty-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an appropriately accredited institution in a field related to the assigned teaching discipline.
• Appropriate academic preparation and coursework relevant to the subject area(s) assigned to teach.
• Minimum of two (2) years of online teaching experience.
• Current industry certification or credential, as applicable to the assigned teaching discipline.
• Demonstrated professional knowledge, subject-matter expertise, and competency within the assigned teaching discipline.
• Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Canvas, Blackboard, or a comparable platform.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage, motivate, and support students in an online learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an appropriately accredited institution.
• For courses requiring graduate-level faculty qualifications, a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours, or the equivalent, in the applicable teaching discipline.
• Previous postsecondary teaching experience within the assigned discipline.
• Experience teaching in both synchronous and asynchronous online learning environments.
• Experience with Canvas and Microsoft Teams or comparable instructional technologies.
• Demonstrated experience supporting student retention, academic achievement, and at-risk student intervention.
