Career Certified is a private-equity-backed online education company serving regulated professions in real estate, financial services, and architecture/engineering/construction through brands including The CE Shop, AD Banker, and Amber Book.

We're launching a new operating unit: an independent business unit that will use AI-native production (including but not limited to market research, content creation, personalization, QA, marketing operations, and more) to build and launch online exam-prep and certification products. The new unit operates with its own P&L, team, and go-to-market motion, separate from our existing brands.

We're hiring for the New Venture Director position. This is a build-and-run role where you'll identify and validate new market opportunities, design scalable production and go-to-market processes, and partner with our technology team to develop the supporting infrastructure. You'll then take ownership of launching, managing, and scaling a portfolio of new products and businesses.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Partner on finalizing and prioritizing which credentials and markets the Lab targets first, building on completed market research.
  • Help design the Lab's end-to-end production and go-to-market process—from content development through demand testing to full launch.
  • Partner closely with our dedicated internal technology team to help stand up the Lab's technology stack, including learning platforms, content and assessment tools, e-commerce, and marketing automation.
  • Serve as a core stakeholder and primary user of the Lab's technology ecosystem.
  • Help define the Lab's brand architecture, hiring plan, and operating cadence with executive leadership.
  • Own full P&L responsibility for the Innovation Lab, including budget, hiring, vendor decisions, pricing, and marketing spend.
  • Develop and implement the UX/UI strategy and how AI will be at the center of the learner experience.
  • Lead the end-to-end build and launch of products in the portfolio, from content production through go-to-market.
  • Make scale, hold, or discontinue decisions at key demand and quality validation checkpoints.
  • Evaluate performance using measures such as demand validation, conversion, CAC/payback, learner engagement, and time-to-market.
  • Hire and lead a small core team spanning performance marketing, content/product, and technical operations.
  • Build and manage a network of subject matter experts, UX/UI professionals, and contractor talent to support content development.
  • Report regularly to executive leadership and provide visibility into progress, risks, and outcomes.

Other Duties

Additional responsibilities may include evaluating new markets, launching new credentialing products, supporting strategic initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

What Success Looks Like

  • Successfully launches and operationalizes a standalone business unit.
  • Implements scalable AI-native production and go-to-market processes.
  • Launches multiple healthcare-focused certification and exam-preparation products.
  • Builds a repeatable framework for evaluating, validating, and scaling new verticals.
  • Delivers strong performance against growth, learner engagement, profitability, and operational efficiency goals.
  • Builds and develops a high-performing team aligned with Career Certified's entrepreneurial culture.

Required Qualifications

  • A track record of building and launching online education or exam-prep/certification products for a B2C audience, ideally in a regulated or credentialing space, with direct P&L ownership.
  • Experience in or directly adjacent to healthcare preferred, including clinical practice, allied health education, medical licensure/certification, or health-tech.
  • Experience standing up a new product line, business unit, or venture from scratch.
  • Comfortable making fast decisions with incomplete data and managing a disciplined kill/hold/scale process.
  • Experience hiring, managing, and retaining specialized contractor or subject matter expert networks.
  • Track record partnering with technical or engineering teams to build product infrastructure without being the engineer.
  • Bias toward speed and hands-on execution in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate research, content development, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to evaluate, refine, and apply AI-generated outputs while maintaining quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in exam preparation, professional certification, or subscription-based ed-tech.
  • Experience with performance marketing and CAC-driven B2C acquisition.
