The Network Security Automation Engineer is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining security automation infrastructure and workflows. They will also troubleshoot incidents, collaborate with team members, and create technical documentation for automation tools.
UPMC is looking for a Network Security Automation Engineer associate to join their team. This position is fully remote.
Description
A Network Security Automation Engineer - Associate is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting security automation infrastructure at UPMC and ensuring those products meet requirements, follow standards and practices, and maintain reliability, scalability, and security.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, test, and deploy custom solutions to integrate disparate tools and automate workflows for network security infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot issues or incidents related to security automation infrastructure.
· Maintain close collaboration and open communication with team members and customers.
· Create and maintain in-depth user and technical documentation for all automation tools and workflows.
· Design and build user interface components for automation tools with this requirement.
Qualifications
· Typically has a 2-year academic degree including courses in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering and/or has acquired 1+ years of core IT skills and knowledge via practical experience.
· Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco firewalls, Site-to-Site VPNs, DDoS mitigation control, 802.1x wired NAC, and Application Delivery Controllers (ADC).
· Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for supporting automation products.
· Experience with Python or other similar scripting languages.
· Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
· Solid understanding of DevSecOps model.
· Experience with SOAR platforms such as Cortex XSOAR or Splunk SOAR.
· Solid understanding of core network fundamentals.
· Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
An entry-level certification such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician, Cisco Certified DevNet Associate etc. is preferred.
