How Your Role Makes a Difference

  • Lead best-in-class fundraising teams to develop a strong pipeline of private revenue across mid, major, and corporate channels, ensuring BCS’s mission is fulfilled;
  • Ensure private funding priorities are developed and communicated effectively through market channels to engage donors with the mission;
  • Provide leadership for collaboration between Donor Engagement and Branch Operations to equip staff for donor cultivation;
  • Actively develop and execute relationship cultivation plans for a small donor portfolio;
  • Contribute to revenue pipeline strategy and ensure successful collaboration and execution across private funding channels;
  • Ensure full adoption and utilization of fundraising technology, including CRM (Raiser’s Edge NXT), to equip fundraisers and maintain accountability;
  • Demonstrate fundraising as a ministry, seeking to change hearts and transform lives while stewarding resources for vulnerable children and families;
  • Oversee and analyze portfolio activity to meet key deliverables and deadlines, partnering with Fundraising Operations for timely reporting;
  • Lead the team in expanding fundraising skills and staying current with philanthropic trends and best practices through networking and training;
  • In coordination with the Chief Development Officer, leverage CEO and local relationships with staff, Board, and stakeholders to build key donor and partner relationships;
  • Collaborate to create a robust inventory of funding opportunities and proposals aligned with mission-critical priorities;
  • Attend required meetings and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders;
  • Travel to leadership meetings or donor appointments as necessary;
  • Represent Bethany and its core values in all forms of communication;
  • Participate in Bethany-sponsored events as required;
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Bachelor’s level degree required from an accredited college or combination of education, experience, and training. Master's degree is preferred;
  • At least seven (7) years of work experience in fundraising for a non-profit or similar organization, preferably in a Christian or faith-based environment;
  • At least five (5) years of work experience leading fundraising or sales teams and multilocation staff;
  • A successful track record raising significant gifts from donors using a variety of funding strategies;
  • Prior experience with a CRM system such as Raisers Edge;
  • Experience in child/family welfare agency, a plus;
  • Demonstrated ability with establishing relationships both in person and virtually;
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills;
  • High ability to work with different stakeholders and teams;
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must possess strong multi-tasking and project management skills;
  • Must be analytical and agile in an evolving work environment;
  • Possess an understanding of, and strong commitment to, Bethany’s faith values and unique identity;
  • Must have a high level of personal and professional integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donor profiles and personal information;
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
