The Multi-Site Quoter is responsible for preparing, communicating, and tracking quoting activities across various business units while maintaining a database of results. This role acts as a flexible resource that travels to different sites to understand manufacturing capabilities and improve quoting accuracy.

Primary Function: Estimating / Quoting Scope: Multiple ARCH Cutting Tools Business Units
This is a remote position but we would prefer someone located in the Midwest or Northeast.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for preparing, communicating, and tracking quoting activities internally and externally across supported ARCH Cutting Tools business units. The Multi-Site Quoter serves as a flexible cross-site resource and develops a working understanding of each location’s manufacturing capabilities, equipment, processes, costs, and quoting requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Estimating Responsibilities
• Respond to RFQs in a timely manner.
• Communicate with Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain to gather information needed to quote jobs.
• Prepare documents needed for Quote Review.
• Retrieve outside sourcing quotes as needed for Quote Review.
• Schedule Quote Review with senior management and follow up as needed.
• Complete quote entry and communicate the final quote to the customer prior to the deadline.
• Maintain the quote database.
• Track jobs won and lost and report results to Management on a regular basis.
• Trend jobs won and lost to improve the accuracy of the quoting process.
• Communicate new jobs and customers to the company to keep appropriate personnel informed.
• Understand external market trends and use available data when quoting.
• Understand internal financial resources and use available data when quoting.
Multi-Site Responsibilities
• Travel to various business units as needed to receive hands-on training and develop a thorough understanding of each location’s manufacturing capabilities, equipment, processes, and quoting requirements.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with Estimating, Engineering, Operations, and other key personnel across supported business units.
• Maintain regular communication with each business unit following initial training to remain current on changes to equipment, capabilities, processes, pricing, lead times, and quoting practices.
• Serve as a cross-site quoting resource, supporting business units during periods of increased RFQ volume, staffing shortages, vacations, or other workload demands.
• Identify opportunities to share quoting knowledge, best practices, tooling strategies, manufacturing methods, and lessons learned between business units.
• Identify quoting and process gaps between locations and communicate opportunities for improvement, alignment, or standardization.
• Develop the ability to independently quote work for multiple business units while applying the appropriate manufacturing capabilities, processes, costs, and quoting standards specific to each location.

Education and/or Experience
• Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or other relevant field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
• 4+ years of experience working in a similar position at a manufacturing company.
• Previous machining or relevant technical experience.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing position.
Language Skills
• Ability to write professionally for multiple outlets that conform to prescribed style and format.
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively.
Mathematical
Ability to apply mathematical concepts, geometry, trigonometry, and practical calculations used in quoting.
Reasoning Ability
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Visio.
• Experience with ERP systems.
