Young Life shall only employ individuals or enlist volunteer leaders who: (a) profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord; and (b) subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith. Therefore, employees and volunteers of Young Life, during working and nonworking hours, shall: (i) be ready, willing and able to fulfill such ministry functions as may be required by the organization; (ii) refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life, and (iii) abide by all policies and practices of Young Life including, without limitation, those related to religious belief or ministry activities.

Spiritual Development

“Following Jesus” includes prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth, church relationships, and health.

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.
  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines in the context of active participation in a church community.
  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
  • Model spiritual development.
  • Model a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Model Spirit-led leadership and “togetherness” as a team including joyful engagement with map, tree, list, and journal.

Essential Duties:

General Adult Engagement (the basics of Adult Engagement at every level)

  • Coordinate adult engagement within the multi-Region geography on behalf of VP, and in alignment with International Development, through the following mechanisms:
    • Action Team Movement: Establish action teams at every team level.
    • Communications: Communicate vision and principles to the corresponding team.
    • Field Development: Partner with International Field Development in events and efforts such as Walk for Hope, Corresponding Field Leader donor engagement, and campaign, local giving initiatives and training.
    • Expeditions: Take ownership of the region’s expeditions trips. Responsible for formalizing the mechanism for Expeditions, filling and organizing the trips, and setting the table for others to recruit/fill expeditions trips as well.
  • Responsible for regional-level Adult Engagement
  • Supervise multi-regional Adult Engagement/development where applicable
  • Serve as the hub for all extra multi-regional Development connections to LA/C

Multi-Regional Adult Engagement specifics (the specifics of Adult Engagement at the Multi-Regional Level)

        Action Team Movement

  • Establish Action Team and lead for Multi-Region Geography in South America
  • Help the Regions engage Action Teams through “come and see” Multi-Regional events

        Communications

  • Schedule meetings and provide notes for meetings.
  • Implement regular reporting for staff and donors that covers how major gifts have been given and what the impact was. Also, coordinate and organize donor activities and initiatives.
    • Develop systems and train staff to track stewardship of major donors, sponsors, and campaign stakeholders.
  • Provide interpretation and translation services.
  • Maintain donor list; updating all YL Connect and Emma donor information.
  • Ensure the full engagement of Regional leaders in multi-regional campaigns (Walk for Hope, Known, etc)
  • Monitor RCE (Relationship Center Engagement) campaigns for SVP, Campaign Director, ECC (Excellence in Camping Committee), and Known Campaign.
  • Providing donor portfolios through YLSC Development Services.
  • Donor care including end of year giving, Christmas cards, donor thank yous)

        Field Development

  • Coordinate and implement development initiatives
  • Organize and provide logistics to the VP for adult engagement trips to the US and South America.
  • Accompanying multi-regional leaders on their donor engagement visits to the US and other Multi-Regional countries.
  • Maintain corresponding Field lead donor weekly agendas
  • Identify and develop staff and volunteers who give energy and resources to fundraising at both the non-local and local levels.
    • Collaborate with any service personnel assigned to projects within the Region.
  • Plan and execute Regional initiatives (from initial launch to completion of the campaign).
    • Coordinate major donor engagements throughout the Region. Participate in engagements as appropriate.
    • Provide excellent major gift follow-up and fund accountability.
  • Cultivate proficiency in the use of Development best practices and tools for raising and managing funds (Workday/Budget, YL Connect, etc.). 

        Expeditions

  • Track Regional Expeditions trips and follow up with donor invitations.
  • In coordination with SVP and as directed by the VP of International Development, establish yearly measurable goals/objectives, related metrics for new gift commitments secured, proposals made, new prospects qualified, and prospect meetings held
  • Implement strategic initiatives as directed by leadership, to grow or improve the Expeditions . platform as a whole.

Personal Support Goals

  • Responsible for raising personal support.  Reach 100% of your personal support goal and steward expenses related to your Mission Unit.

Working Conditions

  • Remote office environment.
  • Attend all team meetings.
  • Travel as requested (approximately 10 days/year).

Education:

BA degree preferred.

Qualifications Required For The Job:

  • Integration of nomenclature, culture, and missional posture of the overall team.
  • Extensive Young Life knowledge.
  • Able to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Able to give spiritual leadership.
  • Able to effectively manage the operational aspects of a region-wide office.
  • Able to work effectively with all field staff and their supervisors.
  • Able to work effectively as a team member with Development Services staff.
  • Able to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Excel or other reporting applications that demonstrate the ability to become proficient in ASIST (online PPL, Workday and other Young Life-owned applications).

Job Specific Working Conditions:

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the United States. 

The anticipated salary rate for this position can range from $25,750-$32,237 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
