The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for analyzing loan files to ensure compliance with program specifications and regulatory guidelines. They must effectively communicate credit decisions and document needs to the operations team while maintaining production and quality standards.
Acrisure Mortgage, a leading residential mortgage lender, is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team! This is a great opportunity for remote candidates that have current experience and a strong background underwriting FHA and VA loans.
Position Summary:
Mortgage Loan Underwriters underwrite and add loan program required conditions to mortgage applications to ensure that the borrower meets all program/product specifications prior to funding. Underwriters communicate all credit decisions (approval, suspense, denial) to the appropriate individuals within the operations team. Underwriters are charged with upholding fair lending practices and protecting the company by making sound lending decisions while maintaining company production and quality requirements.
