Your role as a Mental Health Specialist (Family and relationships)

Reporting to Annabel Tremblay, Manager of Mental Health Specialists, the mission of the Mental Health Specialist (Family & Relationships) is to support members experiencing challenges related to their relationships, family dynamics, or parenting role. This role provides brief interventions and family and couples coaching, including the use of the Gottman Method, while also supporting members in navigating appropriate resources for themselves and their loved ones.


What you'll be doing

  • Conduct clinical assessments and provide interventions to members experiencing family, couple, parenting, or relationship-related concerns
  • Provide family and couples coaching based on the principles and tools of the Gottman Method, particularly around communication, emotional connection, and conflict management
  • Support parents in developing practical strategies to better navigate parenting challenges and foster positive relationships with their children
  • Connect members with appropriate resources for their children or older loved ones, including community, psychosocial, institutional, or specialized services
  • Maintain clear and structured clinical documentation and collaborate with appropriate teams and resources to support continuity of care
  • Conduct suicide and crisis risk assessments, including the C-SSRS and other assessment tools, when necessary

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • A Bachelor's degree in a mental health, social work, psychology, or human relations-related field
  • 2+ years of experience providing interventions to individuals, couples, or families, with comfort providing brief interventions
  • Experience or a strong interest in issues related to parenting, family dynamics, and couple relationships
  • Good knowledge of community and institutional resources for children, families, and older adults
  • A desire to work in an environment that promotes autonomy, professionalism, collaboration, and versatility
  • Asset: Training in the Gottman Method, parent coaching, family intervention, or a systemic approach
