Tandia Financial (Tandia) is seeking a Permanent Full-time Member Solutions Advisor to join our virtual retail banking team in Burlington, Ontario.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Member Solutions, markets the Credit Union’s products and services ensuring that members’ needs are efficiently met. Promotes, upsells and cross-sells the full range of lending and investment products and sundry services to meet the needs of the members and the growth objectives of the Credit Union at each opportunity presented. Is the primary resource for actively soliciting new sales opportunities by following up on staff referrals and identifying target areas and subsequent cold calls to capitalize on growth opportunities. Actively participates in all campaigns and promotions to meet growth targets. Manages portfolio of assigned accounts while increasing volume of business annually to targets required through annual budget. Process members transactions and process members requests for account updates and closures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for identifying opportunities to promote, upsell and cross sell the credit union’s deposit and investment products, including savings accounts, term deposits, registered plans and credit insurance products.
  2. Responsible for efficiently interview members to promote, up-sell and cross sell consumer loans, mortgages, lines of credit and credit cards. Responsible for completing credit approvals within approved limits subject to credit granting criteria.
  3. Responsible for referring the basic financial planning needs of members to a member of the Wealth Management Team.
  4. Identifying and developing growth opportunities for increasing the investment and loans portfolios that will meet the set personal sales targets.
  5. Identifying and developing activities to actively promote and cross-sell the products and services of the credit union through personal contact and telephone marketing.
  6. Executes the marketing programs to attain loan, deposit, sundry products and other member growth areas defined within the objectives of the marketing program.
  7. Interprets and applies operating procedures and lending policies to ensure that guidelines are adhered to.
  8. Complete compliance activities such as annual lending reviews (where assigned) to ensure the Credit Union maintains an acceptable level of risk on advanced credit.
  9. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma plus 4-6 years job related experience or
  • Some college plus 2-3 years job related experience or
  • Completed college/university plus one year job related experience.
  • Successful completion of CUIC – Consumer and Residential Mortgage Lending course
  • Successful completion of CUIC – Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning course
  • Previous credit underwriting experience
  • Willingness to participate in on-going CUIC (Credit Union Institute of Canada) General Studies Program.

KNOWLEDGE

Understanding of credit union's business objectives, philosophies, and principles; credit union products and services at 80% minimum "Advanced" knowledge proficiency, policies and legalities regarding lending and deposit services; mathematical calculations on ratios and amortization schedules; credit union policies and procedures relating to banking requirements; credit union computer and in-depth knowledge of investments including registered plans.
