Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Hemato-Oncology


Field-based role covering Central and South-Eastern Austria (Parts of Vienna, Styria, Carinthia, Burgenland, Southern Lower Austria)


Position Summary

You will be the trusted scientific partner to clinicians and healthcare teams across Central and South-Eastern Austria in hemato-oncology. You will share clinical evidence, listen to local needs, and help shape medical strategy. You will work closely with colleagues in medical affairs, market access, and commercial teams. In this role you will

  • Build and maintain trusted scientific relationships with hemato-oncology clinicians and healthcare teams across Central and South-Eastern Austria.
  • Provide expert, balanced scientific exchange about clinical data, study design and patient care to external stakeholders, including competent and timely responses to on- and off-label medical inquiries regarding GSK products.
  • Plan and deliver medical education and scientific events for healthcare professionals, including the development of concepts, scientific content and agendas for regional projects.
  • Support cross-functionally colleagues in Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market-Access and Sales by sharing field insights to inform medical strategy and local planning, and by supporting and training external experts (EEs) on scientific matters and GSK product presentations.
  • Support in the organization and execution of advisory boards.
  • Represent GSK at national and international scientific meetings and congresses, including medical booth duty; summarize learnings and share them internally.
  • Monitor and review current literature on products, competitors and indications, and support the creation and updating of scientific materials.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Degree in medicine, pharmacy, life sciences or equivalent (MD, MSc, PhD or PharmD)
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, or a related role in oncology/hemato-oncology.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of hemato-oncology and ability to interpret clinical trial data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English.
  • Ability to travel regularly across Central and South-Eastern Austria (approx. 70%) and occasionally internationally.
  • Driving license (B)

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred. If you do not have them, please still apply:

  • Experience as a Medical Science Liaison or similar field-based medical role in oncology.
  • Existing professional network with hematology/oncology clinicians in Central and South-Eastern Austria.
  • Familiarity with the Austrian healthcare system and local treatment pathways.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual engagement tools.

Austrian Salary Range / Österreichische Gehaltsspanne: EUR 60,525 to EUR 100,875The annual gross base salary range for new hires in this position is listed above for each applicable location.
