Implement Medical Affairs strategy by developing and maintaining a network of Key Opinion Leaders to bridge the company and the medical community. Support clinical development initiatives, provide evidence-based scientific expertise, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsible for implementing the Medical Affairs strategy in the region and supporting clinical development initiatives, a central component of this role is the development and maintenance of a network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Serving as a bridge between the Company and the medical community, this position will deliver scientific and clinical expertise, engage with key opinion leaders, support clinical research, and provide evidence-based information to advance patient care. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with organizational goals while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity and compliance.
Skills:
- Strong scientific and clinical knowledge in relevant therapeutic areas (hematology and/or solid organ transplantation and/or immunology and/or oncology)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information clearly.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to interpret scientific data and provide relevant insights.
- High level of integrity and commitment to compliance.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills
- Adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Fluent in Japanese and English
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a medical science liaison or similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Demonstrated experience in supporting clinical trial awareness, education and recruitment
- Demonstrated track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience working directly with key opinion leaders
Education:
- Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent).
- Build advocacy for ECP therapy and research activities among KOLs, including physicians, key academic centers, professional organizations, patient advocacy groups, hospital administration and payers.
- Establish and sustain relationships with key opinion leaders.
- Offer comprehensive expertise on product and relevant therapeutic areas to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to and support Advisory Boards.
- Participate in medical congresses and expert meetings to gather knowledge on current trends.
- Provide insights and feedback from the field to guide product strategies.
- Support clinical development initiatives by identifying research opportunities, educating potential participants in clinical trials, and supporting recruitment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal guidelines and standards.
