Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and meticulous Medical Records Clerk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, retrieving, and ensuring accuracy of our medical records.
Key Responsibilities:
o Review medical records for completeness and accuracy
o Coordinate with IT to correct medical record errors
o Retrieve medical records for patients, insurance companies, POA’s, and other authorized individuals
o Assist with payer audits by retrieving and collating medical records and documenting the outcome of the pull
o Prepare summaries for management of number of requests worked daily
o Keep manager informed of barriers or issues with medical record requests or systems being utilized
o Ensure that medical records are protected and kept confidential
o Complete clerical duties such as answering phones, reviewing faxes, and responding to emails
o Stay up to date on medical records regulatory requirements associated with governmental, managed care, and commercial payers
Qualifications:
Required:
· High School Diploma
· 1-2 years of experience with an Electronic Medical Records system in a healthcare setting
· Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of work efficiently
· Ability to relate well to all kinds of people, up, down, and sideways, inside and outside the organization
· Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data, identify patterns, and draw conclusions
· Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive
· Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Advanced organization and time management skills
Preferred:
· Certified Electronic Health Records (CEHRS)
Anticipated range for this role is $18.00 - $20.00/hour. This position follows a location-based compensation structure. The posted salary range represents the potential pay range across various geographic markets. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s primary work location, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
