Medical Billing Specialist

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing healthcare team. If you have hands-on experience with medical billing and understand the U.S. medical billing process from start to finish, and take pride in accurate, timely claim processing, we'd love to hear from you.

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while ensuring providers receive timely reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit and manage medical claims through Office Ally and similar programs
• Utilize IntakeQ and similar tools to review patient information and support billing workflows
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, and rejected claims
• Perform Accounts Receivable (AR) follow-up and collections
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits as needed
• Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile billing records
• Resolve claim edits, denials, and payer inquiries
• Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR and billing systems
• Collaborate with providers and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of U.S. medical billing experience
  
• Strong knowledge of:
  • CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
  • Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
  • Claims submission, payment posting, AR follow-up, and denials management
• Excellent English communication skills
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with outpatient or therapy practices
• Familiarity with insurance authorizations and eligibility verification
• Knowledge of additional EMR or practice management systems
