As Natural Cycles' Media Relations Specialist, you'll help shape how Natural Cycles is represented in the media across North America. Working closely with the Director of Communications, North America, you'll build relationships with journalists, secure meaningful earned media coverage, support executive visibility initiatives, and help bring communications campaigns to life. You'll play an important role in increasing awareness, building trust, and strengthening Natural Cycles' reputation through compelling storytelling and proactive media relations.

What you will be doing

Working closely with the Director of Communications, North America, you will execute earned media initiatives that support the broader North American communications strategy and help drive consistent, high-impact visibility for Natural Cycles.

Media Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists across consumer, health, business, lifestyle, technology, parenting, and women's media throughout the US and Canada.

  • Develop compelling story angles and media pitches that translate research, product launches, communications campaigns, partnerships, and cultural moments into earned media opportunities.

  • Secure earned media opportunities across print, digital, broadcast, podcasts, newsletters, and emerging media.

  • Draft press releases, media alerts, executive briefing documents, FAQs, and other media materials.

  • Manage inbound media requests from initial outreach through interview coordination and follow-up.

Earned Media

  • Execute the annual earned media calendar, supporting quarterly and monthly communications priorities in partnership with the Director of Communications.

  • Monitor the news cycle and identify timely opportunities for proactive outreach and rapid-response communications.

  • Maintain and grow relationships with journalists while managing media lists, editorial calendars, and media monitoring tools to support proactive outreach and reporting.

  • Maintain a database of industry awards, speaking opportunities, conferences, and media opportunities to support year-round planning.

Executive Communications

  • Research and coordinate speaking engagements, conference opportunities, podcast interviews, executive awards, and other thought leadership opportunities.

  • Prepare award submissions and coordinate executive media opportunities, including interview logistics and briefing materials.

Communications Campaigns

  • Partner closely with Brand, Medical Marketing, Research, Product, Social, and other cross-functional teams to execute integrated communications campaigns.

  • Coordinate earned media activities surrounding campaigns, product launches, research publications, company announcements, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Maximize the impact of communications campaigns through proactive media outreach and strategic storytelling.

Reporting & Measurement

  • Track media coverage, sentiment, share of voice, and other key performance metrics.

  • Prepare monthly reporting and recommendations to optimize earned media performance.


What skills and experience we think you have

  • 4-6 years of experience in media relations or public relations.

  • Proven track record securing national earned media across consumer, lifestyle, health, business, and technology media.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media contacts.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to develop compelling media pitches and press materials.

  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership, including media interviews, speaking opportunities, and award submissions.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working in healthcare, wellness, consumer technology, or another regulated industry is preferred.

  • Familiarity with media monitoring and media database platforms (such as Cision or Muck Rack) is preferred.

  • Based in the New York City metropolitan area.

Location

We are remote-first, but we find great value in being able to connect with our teams in person from time to time. Most of the team that you will work with is based within commuting distance of NYC.

Salary bracket: $93,000 - $110,000

While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
