Bitfocus | Remote | Full-Time

About Bitfocus

Bitfocus builds the technology and services that help communities end homelessness. Our flagship product, Clarity Human Services, is the HMIS platform of choice for hundreds of communities across the country - used by case managers, analysts, and administrators to coordinate services, track outcomes, and drive systemic change for people experiencing homelessness.

We are a remote-first company powered by a team that genuinely cares about the work. We operate at the intersection of public policy, data, and technology, and the decisions we make here have real consequences for real people.

We know strong candidates don't always look the same on paper. If you're excited about this role and believe you have what it takes, we'd love to hear from you.  We're building a team that reflects the communities we serve.

About the role

This role owns Bitfocus's integrated marketing program; from strategic campaign planning and account-based marketing to paid media and external event strategy. You'll build and maintain the canonical content library that Business Development, Customer Success, Product, and Communications draw from, reducing duplicative work across the organization and ensuring every external touchpoint reflects a coherent, well-timed message. This is a role for someone who wants to own something that matters and grow with it.

About the Operations team

The Operations team at Bitfocus sits at the center of how the company runs and communicates, spanning technical support, learning and development, and communications. This role joins that team as the function responsible for Bitfocus’s integrated marketing program, reporting to our Operations and Communications Manager and partnering across Business Development, Customer Success, and Product to bring consistent, well-timed messaging to market.

What this role focuses on:

  • Integrated campaign strategy tied to company growth goals
  • Content development and asset management for cross-functional use
  • Account-based marketing and competitor displacement programs
  • External event presence at sector-specific convenings
  • Paid media and HubSpot marketing automation
  • Pipeline reporting and marketing attribution

What you'll do

  • Campaign strategy and execution: You'll facilitate the Functional Growth Committee to plan and execute Bitfocus's annual campaign roadmap, each quarter defined by its own messaging brief, target audience, channel mix, and success metrics.
  • Content library ownership: You'll build and maintain the canonical content library that serves as the definitive source of messaging, positioning, and audience framing across Business Development, Customer Success, Product, and Communications. You'll version assets as messaging evolves, retire outdated content, and track adoption to reduce one-off content requests.
  • Asset production and vendor management: You'll produce and commission the core asset suite for each campaign including case studies, playbooks, deep-dive guides, demo narratives, product explainers, writing and editing directly or managing external consultants. You'll scope, brief, and quality-review all vendor deliverables and hold them to timeline, budget, and brand standards.
  • Account-based and competitive marketing: You'll own the competitor displacement program, design and execute regional and geotargeted campaigns targeting priority communities, and build RFP influence content in close coordination with Business Development.
  • External event strategy: You'll define the creative concept, engagement strategy, and pre/on-site/post-event communications for events like NHSDC, NAEH, and HUD convenings. You'll manage vendors, equip the cross-functional event team with shared talking points, own lead handoff to Business Development, and deliver event ROI reporting within 30 days.
  • Paid media and marketing operations: You'll manage paid media programs including keyword strategy, audience targeting, and budget pacing. You'll advance marketing automation in HubSpot, list segmentation, nurture sequences, lead scoring, and campaign attribution, in partnership with the HubSpot CRM Admin and cross-functional leaders.
  • Reporting and pipeline contribution: You'll define marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline metrics with Business Development and Customer Success, and report monthly on campaign performance, paid media efficiency, and pipeline contribution. You'll identify when campaigns or channels are underperforming and flag it before it compounds.
  • Sector awareness and strategic timing: You'll stay current on the HMIS landscape, HUD funding cycles, and federal data standards changes so that campaign timing and messaging reflect the realities Bitfocus buyers actually operate in.

You'll know you're succeeding when...

  • Quarterly campaigns launch on schedule with a complete messaging brief, defined audience, channel plan, and success metrics and cross-functional teams report clarity on their role before the campaign begins.
  • The canonical content library is current and actively used. Business Development, Customer Success, and Communications are drawing from it, and requests for one-off content creation have measurably decreased.
  • Monthly pipeline reports are delivered on time with actionable findings, and marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced opportunities are tracked with accuracy visible to BD and CS leadership.
  • Vendor engagements are scoped with a clear, brief and defined timeline; consultants deliver on-brand work within budget, and escalations are rare and handled before they affect deliverable quality.
  • Peers in Business Development, Customer Success, and Communications describe marketing as easy to work with and requests are responded to clearly, shared priorities are understood, and credit is not contested.
  • You're proactively surfacing sector shifts, HUD cycles, regulatory changes, procurement trends, and adjusting campaign timing or messaging before anyone has to ask.

What you bring

  • B2B marketing ownership: 5+ years of direct ownership of integrated campaigns, paid media programs, and pipeline metrics. You've run the whole motion, not just pieces of it.
  • HubSpot hands-on proficiency: Demonstrated experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub: workflows, lists, landing pages, forms, lead scoring, and campaign reporting.
  • Content strategy and production: A track record of producing or directing long-form content, case studies, playbooks, guides, deep-dive blogs, that supports a sales or business development motion.
  • Vendor and project management: Demonstrated ability to scope, brief, and manage external creative and development consultants with accountability to timeline, budget, and brand standards.
  • Translating technical into buyer-relevant messaging: Strong written communication skills and the ability to take complex product capabilities and make them land for non-technical buyers in a regulated, mission-driven sector.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and judgment under pressure: You recognize when a campaign is off-track, when a vendor is going to miss, or when a message is going to land wrong; and you act before it becomes someone else's problem.

Nice to have

  • Experience marketing into government, nonprofit, healthcare, or other regulated or public-sector buyers.
  • Familiarity with the HMIS landscape, HUD funding cycles, or the homelessness services sector.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional planning committees or recurring working groups with senior peers.
  • Demonstrated experience building account-based marketing programs, including competitor displacement assets and RFP influence content.
  • Hands-on experience building and executing event marketing programs, including exhibit hall management and post-event ROI reporting.
  • Experience managing a webinar program, including promotion, registration, and post-event nurture.
