You will contribute to an industry-leading team by supporting client success through innovative advisory, capital, and technology offerings. This role focuses on Bermuda and is based there or remote, requiring frequent travel to Bermuda and North America. It is part of the Life Solutions practice within Aon's Strategy and Technology Group.

Part of the Strategy and Technology Group, Life Solutions at Aon delivers modeling software and advisory services to Life and Annuity (re)insurers globally. The Life Solutions platform, PathWise®, enables firms to easily model all sections of an insurer’s balance sheet and income statement with no complicated coding. It operates on Graphical Processing Units (GPU), making it among the quickest, most flexible, and intuitive platforms in insurance today. Our advisory offerings include actuarial consulting, help with regulatory and financial reporting, capital advice, reinsurance optimization, hedging strategies, transformation, modernization, and additional services.

What the day will look like

In this senior leadership role, you will act as Managing Director – Life Advisory, Bermuda, reporting directly to the Senior Managing Director, Head of Life Capital Advisory, North America. You will play a central role in advancing Aon’s Bermuda life and annuity advisory and technology solutions, guiding business development, client delivery, and market presence for:

  • Life capital provisions and transactions motivated by capital
  • Life advisory and actuarial services based in Bermuda
  • Assisting PathWise® and wider Life Solutions technology and analytics sales within the Bermuda market.

You will:

  • Originate and lead engagements with Bermuda‑domiciled life and annuity insurers, reinsurers, and private capital platforms, passionate about capital solutions, advisory, and outsourcing.
  • Serve as the main commercial representative of Aon Life Solutions in Bermuda, working closely with the North American Life Capital Advisory head, global Life Solutions leadership, and Aon Bermuda colleagues.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders (CEOs, CFOs, Chief Actuaries, CROs, Heads of Capital, Heads of Bermuda Operations) to help optimize capital, manage risk, and meet regulatory and reporting obligations.

You will work within a cooperative leadership group focused on common revenue and P&L goals across Life Advisory and PathWise solutions. Achievement is gauged by your capability to promote Bermuda-focused opportunities and blend Aon’s capital advisory, actuarial, and technology services into unified client solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Bermuda Life Market Leadership Role

  • Direct Aon’s Life Solutions in Bermuda for life and annuity clients, taking charge of:
  • Business growth and market positioning in Bermuda.
  • Local client relationship management and account planning.
  • Collaborating with North American and global Life Solutions leaders on strategy and implementation.
  • Act as a prominent Aon representative within the Bermuda life market:
  • Participate in and speak at Bermuda‑based industry conferences and forums.
  • Establish Aon’s brand as a trusted advisor for Bermuda life capital, actuarial outsourcing, and technology solutions.

Bermuda‑Based Capital & Reinsurance Solutions

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Life Capital Advisory, North America, the Head of Life Advisory, UK/EMEA and other global Life Solutions leadership to:
  • Build and position Bermuda‑centered capital solutions for life and annuity writers, including:
  • Bermuda‑based reinsurance vehicles and structures
  • Capital‑efficient reinsurance arrangements and sidecars
  • Structures responsive to Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirements (BSCR) and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Support origination, structuring, and execution of cross‑border transactions that link North American insurers, Bermuda platforms, and global capital providers.
  • Provide local insight on Bermuda regulatory expectations, market practices, and capital trends, feeding into Aon’s broader product and solution development.

Bermuda Actuarial Support & Outsourcing

  • Lead and grow Aon’s Bermuda‑focused actuarial and reporting support services for life and annuity writers, including:
  • Build and delivery of outsourced actuarial and regulatory reporting services to support clients’ Bermuda operations.
  • Oversight of BSCR calculations, stress and scenario testing, capital adequacy assessments, and related documentation.
  • Support for SBA and other statutory and regulatory filing requirements, including coordination with client internal teams and local Bermuda regulators.
  • Integration of Bermuda regulatory, capital, and actuarial requirements into broader capital optimization, reinsurance, and M&A solutions for clients operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Business Growth for Life Capital Solutions and Life Advisory

  • Take a leading role in the full sales cycle for Bermuda‑centered life capital and advisory engagements:
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities related to capital optimization, reinsurance‑backed solutions, legacy/run‑off blocks, and transaction support for Bermuda platforms.
  • Develop proposals, guide pitches, and negotiate commercial terms in partnership with North American Life Solutions leaders.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with:
  • Bermuda‑domiciled life insurers and reinsurers
  • Private equity and alternative capital sponsors using Bermuda platforms
  • Other Bermuda‑based intermediaries and professional services providers.

Support for PathWise® and Technology‑Enabled Solutions

  • Partner with PathWise® and Life Solutions sales and product teams to:
  • Identify Bermuda clients and prospects where PathWise® and associated analytics can assist with capital, hedging, ALM, valuation, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Translate Bermuda‑specific regulatory and capital requirements (e.g., BSCR) into compelling use cases for PathWise®.
  • Co‑lead or support demonstrations, proof‑of‑concepts, and implementation roadmaps for Bermuda‑based clients.
  • Promote coordinated offerings that combine PathWise®, capital advisory, and actuarial outsourcing to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Client Delivery & Engagement Leadership

  • Lead or coordinate the delivery of Bermuda‑centered advisory, actuarial, and capital projects, ensuring:
  • High‑quality client outputs and clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Effective coordination between Bermuda‑based and North American/global teams.
  • Timely, on‑budget execution consistent with Aon methodologies and standards.
  • Provide senior sign‑off, oversight, and issue resolution for key Bermuda client engagements.

Collaboration, Risk & Governance

  • Collaborate directly with the Senior Managing Director, Head of Life Capital Advisory, North America, and other Life Solutions leaders to:
  • Coordinate pipeline, staffing, and prioritization of resources across Bermuda and North America.
  • Manage conflicts, information barriers, and engagement governance on Bermuda‑related transactions.
  • Ensure adherence to Aon’s standards for independence, quality, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing by capturing and disseminating insights from Bermuda engagements and regulatory developments.

Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success

Professional Experience

  • Typically 12+ years of experience in life insurance / life reinsurance / actuarial and capital advisory, with meaningful exposure to:
  • Bermuda‑domiciled life or annuity business (insurer, reinsurer, or advisory role).
  • Capital‑motivated reinsurance structures, regulatory capital management, and/or life M&A or block transactions.
  • Actuarial and regulatory reporting according to BSCR and associated Bermuda frameworks.
  • Experience in one or more of the following environments:
  • A leading consulting or actuarial firm with a Bermuda or offshore life practice.
  • A Bermuda‑domiciled life insurer or reinsurer, ideally in a capital, risk, finance, or chief actuary function.
  • A private equity‑backed life/annuity or reinsurance platform applying Bermuda structures.
  • Proven history of business development and client leadership, including initiating or growing Bermuda‑related engagements.

Technical and Domain Expertise

  • Strong understanding of:
  • Life and annuity products and economics, particularly those frequently issued or reinsured via Bermuda platforms.
  • Bermuda regulatory frameworks, encompassing BSCR, SBA requirements, along with related actuarial and reporting standards.
  • Reinsurance and capital structures using Bermuda vehicles, including collateral, governance, and risk‑transfer considerations.
  • Comfortable leading teams that perform:
  • Actuarial valuations and capital calculations.
  • Assistance with regulatory and financial reporting.
  • Capital and transaction‑related analytics.

Education and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree or equivalent experience in actuarial science, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional actuarial designation such as FSA/FCIA/FIA/FCAS (or equivalent), ideally with relevant Bermuda practice experience, is highly valued.
  • Additional credentials (e.g., CFA or equivalent experience) are a plus.
