A Day in the Life: Manager, Software Engineering
Trinity Logistics is looking for an experienced Manager, Software Engineering to lead our talented development teams and help shape the future of our technology strategy. This fully remote position reports to the Director of Software Engineering and plays a key role in driving delivery across Trinity’s application portfolio.
As a hands-on leader, you’ll mentor engineers, coach Scrum teams, and champion Agile best practices that bring real business value. You’ll guide teams through sprint execution, support professional growth through performance reviews and 1:1 coaching, and continuously improve how we build and deliver software.

Essential Skillsets: Is This You?
- Proven leadership experience managing software engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Skilled at coaching Scrum Masters and teams to embrace Agile principles and continuous improvement
- Strong understanding of software development with experience in modern programming languages (e.g., Angular, Java, Spring Boot, Terraform, GIT)
- Hands-on knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Proficiency with tools like Jira and Confluence for managing work and reporting progress
- Excellent communicator who thrives on collaboration and transparency
- Strategic problem solver who can define solutions, collect data, and drive measurable results
- Organized, adaptable, and passionate about helping teams grow and succeed
Job Requirements: Is This You?
- Experience: 3-4 years of software development experience in a professional setting and 2-3 years of experience leading development teams or efforts, required.
- Programming: Background knowledge of modern programming languages like Angular, Java, or Spring Boot.
- Database: Relational database experience with a clear understanding of data structures and SQL queries.
- Agile/Scrum: Deep understanding of Scrum principles with a proven ability to coach and mentor teams on Agile best practices, rather than directly managing projects.
- Cloud Environment: Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services (CloudFormation, Security, Cost Explorer, etc.), including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and ECS/EKS
- Tools: Strong knowledge of development management tools such as the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).
- Leadership:
- Strong ability to lead and direct a development effort leveraging multiple teams and skills.
- Proven ability to track the performance of Team Members and support their growth.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to define solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively manage and execute across multiple priorities and teams at a time.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Some travel is required.
