Overview

As a Manager, Quality Engineering, you will lead the quality strategy for complex digital products and enterprise platforms, with a focus on Order Management, Cart Management, APIs, distributed systems, and system integrations. You will combine hands-on Quality Engineering expertise with technical leadership, helping teams design effective test strategies, build scalable automation, validate complex data and event flows, and embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, and client stakeholders to identify risk early, guide technical decisions, develop QE talent, and continuously improve how quality is engineered and measured.

 

Responsibilities

Your Impact

• Design end-to-end quality strategies across APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, databases, and integrated enterprise applications, balancing functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end coverage.
• Build and evolve scalable API automation solutions using frameworks such as Karate, RestAssured, and Playwright, ensuring test suites remain maintainable, reliable, and aligned with product risk.
• Implement quality validation for asynchronous and event-driven architectures, including Kafka message flows, event processing, exception scenarios, and data consistency across downstream services.
• Integrate automated quality checks into CI/CD pipelines, helping engineering teams establish fast and reliable feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, and client stakeholders to identify quality risks early, challenge assumptions, and define appropriate release-readiness criteria.
• Lead and develop Quality Engineers through technical guidance, coaching, feedback, and opportunities to expand their ownership and engineering capabilities.
• Drive continuous improvement through quality metrics, automation insights, modern tooling, and new engineering practices that improve delivery outcomes.

 

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, SDET, or Test Automation, including experience leading QE initiatives or engineering teams in Agile product environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with API testing and automation, using Karate, RestAssured, Playwright, or comparable programmatic automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, integration testing, regression testing, and API contract validation, with experience using tools such as Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Experience testing distributed or event-driven architectures, ideally using Kafka or comparable messaging/event-streaming technologies, with an understanding of asynchronous processing, message flows, failure scenarios, and data consistency.
• Experience validating data across MongoDB, Couchbase, or comparable NoSQL/document databases, including queries, data integrity checks, schema validation, and end-to-end data reconciliation.
• Experience designing or evolving test automation frameworks and integrating automated suites within CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to define QE strategy, quality metrics, automation reporting, quality gates, and release-readiness criteria across complex software delivery environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across Engineering, Product, Architecture, business, and client stakeholders to drive quality outcomes.

Set Yourself Apart With

• Experience testing Order Management, Cart, Checkout, Commerce, or other high-volume transactional platforms.
• Experience validating complex microservices architectures, including upstream and downstream enterprise integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or other major cloud platforms and containerized/cloud-native environments.
• Experience with performance, resilience, reliability, or other non-functional testing across distributed applications.
• Experience leading Quality Engineering transformation initiatives, introducing new automation approaches, tooling, engineering standards, or reusable quality practices.
• Experience applying emerging technologies, including AI-assisted Quality Engineering, to improve engineering productivity, automation, or defect prevention.
