We’re looking for a Manager, Financial Controls & Ethics to play a critical leadership role in shaping and safeguarding our financial control environment while championing ethical business practices across the organization.
Location: Remote (PST preferred)
Compensation Range: $100,000-150,000- Actual pay may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws.
What You’ll Do
Lead SOX Strategy & Execution
- Plan the annual SOX certification process, including risk assessment and scoping
- Oversee SOX testing (including IT dependencies) and ensure high-quality, defensible workpapers
- Evaluate control deficiencies, perform root cause analysis, and assess financial reporting impact
Strengthen Controls & Drive Improvement
- Track remediation, validate completion, and recommend process improvements
- Support SOX integration for newly acquired stores
- Advise business partners on control design, documentation, and financial reporting risks
Enhance Efficiency & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve controls through data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies
- Contribute to evolving methodologies and best practices
Lead Ethics & Investigations
- Monitor fraud and ethics trends using proactive risk indicators
- Manage intake, triage, and investigation of ethics concerns
- Deliver clear, executive-ready investigation summaries and track remediation
Develop & Lead Talent
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of SOX and controls professionals
What You Bring
- Proven experience leading and developing teams in SOX, internal controls, audit, or financial compliance (typically 6+ years)
- Strong foundation in SOX/ICFR and financial controls, with the ability to guide rather than execute day-to-day details
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and drive alignment across cross-functional partners
- Experience supporting ethics, fraud, or compliance investigations with sound judgment and discretion
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear, executive-ready insights
- CPA required
