Position:              Engineering Manager (Job code: 90588)

 

Duties:                 Perform all phases of software engineering including design, development, testing, and deployment in an Agile software development environment. Help hone overall Agile practices to reduce the time it takes to deliver increments of software, including improving continuous integration and delivery. Manage a high performing team of Software Engineers and Quality Engineers through the evolution of Blackhawk's e-commerce products. Assess performance, provide feedback, recognize achievement and guide the career development of the team. Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding new engineering talent. Build a strong, collaborative partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver software that achieves business objectives. Work with shifting requirements and adapt to change by leading the team and the department in maintaining an Agile mindset. Recognize technology opportunities to support business growth while balancing risks and priorities. Encourage transparency with each team's release plans, progress, and impediments.

 

Education

Required:             Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, or related field.

 

Experience

Required:             5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer, Technical Manager, Technical Lead, Project Associate, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.

 

Special

Requirements:     Must have at least 3 years of prior work experience in each of the following:

  • Object-oriented and functional software engineering using Spring Boot, AngularJS, and NodeJS.
  • Working in at least 5 of the following AWS environments: AWS API Gateway, AWS Cloud Formation, AWS EC2, AWS ECS, AWS Event Bus, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, AWS RDS/Aurora, and/or AWS Lambda.
  • Working with containers and orchestration using Docker software.
  • Designing and building REST services with AWS using Spring Boot, and Microservice architectures using at least 2 of the following: AWS API Gateway, AWS Cloud Formation, AWS EC2, AWS RDS/Aurora, and/or AWS Lambda.
  • Relational database design and SQL & NoSQL development using Redis, MongoDB, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, and Postgres.
  • CI/CD build and deploy process using Blue/Green deploy strategies.
  • Designing and developing web user interface SPA using HTML, JS, CSS, and AngularJS.
  • Building and deploying scale web apps using Git, Jenkins, and AWS.

    • Position permits telecommuting: applicant may reside anywhere in U.S. and reports to Pleasanton, CA office.

     

    Salary:                 $213,512 to $235,000 per year
