Job DetailsJob Location: Full-Time Remote - Houston, TX 77084SUMMARY  The East Asia & Pacific (EAP) Area Manager plays a pivotal role in driving AMPP's growth across the East Asia & Pacific (EAP) Area by identifying localized growth opportunities, strengthening high-level stakeholder relationships, and expanding engagement within key industries. Acting as AMPP's primary regional leader in the EAP Area, the role focuses on navigating the unique local business landscapes and collaborating closely with regional members, local chapters, corporate partners, and government agencies to significantly enhance the organization's presence, regulatory influence, and business impact within the region.  Furthermore, the Area Manager tailors and executes regional initiatives specifically designed for the East Asia & Pacific (EAP) Area, aligned with AMPP's Strategic Geographies framework. By delivering critical, EAP-specific market intelligence and strategic insights, the incumbent fosters robust localized partnerships and supports regional governance to ensure long-term sustainability and sustainable organizational growth in this highly dynamic and high-potential region.    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned with AMPP's Strategic Geographies framework and organizational objectives, while identifying, developing, and expanding opportunities across key industry verticals including Maritime, Civil Infrastructure, Energy/Oil & Gas, Defense, Mining, Manufacturing, and other strategic sectors.  Build and maintain strong relationships with members, chapters, corporate partners, government agencies, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, and industry associations throughout the EAP region.  Research, identify, and establish strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaboration opportunities that advance AMPP's mission and business objectives.  Serve as AMPP's regional representative at industry conferences, technical forums, trade exhibitions, government engagements, and stakeholder meetings.  Collaborate with internal departments including Membership, Conferences, Marketing, Certification, Publications, Technical Advancement, and Corporate Relations to develop and deliver regional programs and initiatives.  Identify emerging market trends, industry challenges, regulatory developments, and business opportunities to support strategic decision-making and regional planning. Develop and execute business development initiatives that support membership growth, corporate engagement, sponsorship opportunities, and new revenue streams.  Support the planning, development, and execution of regional conferences, workshops, seminars, technical programs, and industry engagement activities.  Manage regional budgets (EAPA  Malaysia Office), forecasts, and financial performance while ensuring responsible stewardship of AMPP resources.  Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), business outcomes, market intelligence, and regional growth opportunities to senior leadership.  Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior leadership to support AMPP's global growth objectives. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  This position is responsible for the managing/hiring/disciplining of temporary or direct reporting staff if required.  QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS  Travel is expected 40% - 60% of time and passport is required.    QualificationsEDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE  Minimum (4) four-year university degree in a related field (Bachelor’s Degree) with at least (5) five years’ experience.  Knowledge of Corrosion or Coatings is not required but would be considered beneficial.  Experience working with and knowledge of the Oil/Gas (Energy), Offshore Technology, Marine/shipping, Bridges, and Water/Wastewater industry highly desirable.  Knowledge of, and ability to work with, the diverse cultures of the region.  LANGUAGE SKILLS  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and legislation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, verbally and in writing, and to respond to questions from groups of managers, members, contractors, government agencies, and the general public.  Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia both written and spoken. Knowledge of a third language of the region like Mandarin, is highly desirable.  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.  REASONING ABILITY  Ability to independently define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement any required actions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS  Ability to get a visa to the US, and all major countries in the Area.  OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES  Must possess a specific level of communication skills both verbally and written. Have demonstrated personnel management skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to evaluate staff performance and provide direction, is highly desirable. Ability to work in a multi-task environment considering various external factors and to communicate efficiently and accurately to both managers/supervisors and subordinate staff.  Must be computer literate with knowledge and experience in word processing and spreadsheet software.
