Management Accountant

Role: Mid Management Accountant

Location: Remote (Colombia)

Language: Proficiency in English is required as we are a global business

About the role:

We are seeking a Financial Accountant based in Colombia who will support the accounting and finance activities of our Mexico and Colombia operations. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting experience, knowledge of Latin American business practices, and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders across different countries. 

Mandatory Requirements (Must-Have) 

Education 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting certification is an advantage. 

Experience 

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Experience working within multinational or shared service environments.
• Exposure to Mexican finance operations is highly preferred. 

Technical Skills 

• Strong understanding of:  
• General Ledger accounting
• Month-end and year-end closing
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Fixed assets
• Intercompany accounting
• Financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
• Advanced Excel skills. 

Local Expertise (Critical) 

• Candidate must demonstrate practical knowledge of: 

Colombia & Mexico 

• Colombian tax regulations.
• Payroll processing and labor laws.
• Statutory reporting requirements.
• Social security and employee benefit obligations.
• Understanding of Mexican tax principles and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of VAT (IVA), withholding taxes, and electronic invoicing (CFDI).
• Experience collaborating with Mexican finance, payroll, or tax teams. 

Language 

• Fluent Spanish (mandatory).
• Business-level English (mandatory). 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience supporting multiple countries in Latin America.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Shared Service Center (SSC) or regional finance support experience.
